I have a blast playing it with friends. Arena is so FUN.
Sure cosmetics are FOMO unlock systems are weak. Yet why do you care so much about playing dress up with your spartan like some kind of barbie doll? Its about the GAMEPLAY
Hate it? Maybe YOU are afraid of change. Maybe YOU are stuck in the past with nostalgia goggles on. Halo Infinite rules.
Eh I’ve just been playing MCC while waiting on the campaign.
It has the potential to be better but the lack of content combined with certain design decisions cough highlight system cough is keeping me on Reach and 3 multiplayer
Hahaha, I agree with this @l_Funkyfresh_l - I couldn’t care less for how my Spartan looks (still prefer the female body type/black, grey armour), I just care about gameplay quality (MINT BTW) & quality connected servers (Err struggling atm, hopefully they work on it!)
It has a solid base but 343 have broken so many promises to the community and have essentially pushed an unfinished free to play multiplayer(with fully functional mtx) out the door with barebones content and are hoping that people will stick around while they patch it for 10 years…the game had an IMMENSE budget and more development time than any of the other games and still isn’t even going to release as a finished product. We’ll be lucky to see co-op, and the rest of the previously standard features a year after release at this rate.
Or, maybe…just maybe and intentionally aggressive MTX system when coupled with 90% of cosmetics being locked behind paywalls, working in conjunction with no tradtional method to unlock armours is making people a little upset…
Validly so
You are correct about one thing…best halo in a decade…hell, IMO best halo MP since H3, but stop stroking the balls of 343i
The game has issues, glaring issues that need to be addressed
With some tweaks and re balances the gameplay could be the best. When you and an enemy melee each other in the chest and both get backsmacks something isnt right.
I think what Funky fresh is saying is that the problems with progression are small potatoes. You should be playing a game because it’s fun, not to make some blue bar fill up or some arbitrary number go up.
The progression system in Halo doesn’t have any meaning beyond cosmetics, and I like it for that.
I saw another person today say that they saw the reward for the weekly challenge wasn’t worth it, so they quit playing for the day. That made me a little sad. It implied that thry don’t fully enjoy the game in its own right. They would play a game they don’t fully enjoy to get a nameplate or skin they like, but would otherwise rather be doing something else.
I think it can be fun to unlock things as you play, but just as a fun extra thing.
The other thing that gets me with these complaints about the progression system, is from the way people are acting, they make it sound like it’s such a FOMO thing, but there is plenty of time to complete the Battle Pass. There are still 147 days left to complete this battle pass. That’s five months. We’ve only been able to progress on it for a little over two weeks, and e en casual players are probably at level 20 or so, and if you have the premium battle pass there’s no time limit.
I agree, the challenge system has huge flaws, or rather, the fact that it is the primary method of progress is a problem, and many of the individual challenges are problematic. However, that said, people are punishing themselves making it seem like you have to grind for these challenges, when I really don’t think that’s the case. You could go at a much more casual pace and still be complete in five months. Also, remember that playing the game is fun! Play for fun, not for grinding. Many of you are probably going to feel a different kind of frustration when you’ve completed the battle pass, and noe there’s “nothing to do”.

I think your idea is misplaced. There are different reasons different people are upset.
Am I stuck in the past for wanting more than rng slayer/ctf/oddball? I used to play a ton of swat, Snipers, and doubles.
I’m excited swat is coming and even ffa because it means I won’t have to subject myself to quick play anymore, but with how many types of playlists that are missing on full release? Pretty disappointing compared to even 343 Halos. Nothing to do with being stuck in some arbitrary past.
And you like pretending that you’re a super soldier who can actually shoot a gun accurately under stress and fight aliens. Looks like we’re both roll playing here.
Some people just want a level of immersion that had been a standard mechanic for 14 years.
