Halo insider pc flighting

Do you have to own halo MCC on steam in order to be part of the flighting system as the sign up wanted me to link my steam account? I don’t own the game on steam as i have the game pass and have it through the Microsoft store. Would this stop me from being part of the halo insider program?

No, owning the MCC isn’t a requirement. Linking your Steam account just means that you may be eligible to receive flight builds via Steam.
If you don’t have a Steam account linked you’ll only be given Microsoft Store versions, as far as I know.

Thank you. i linked the account but i dont own MCC through steam so thank you for the clarification

In addition to the above, another thing to consider is that Steam was the focus during the Reach flights. Aside from the Xbox flight, all of the other flights were through Steam, with one (admittedly sizable) batch of emails going out for the Microsoft Store during the last flight.

It might be different this time around, now that they’ve sorted out most of the problems they had during the Reach flights, but all the same, it’s worth noting.
