Halo Insider Feedback

A log of my personal feedback of the Tech Demo. I’m a Halo vet since the beginning. I’m keeping an open mind with Halo Infinite, approaching it as a new game. But for the sake of feedback, I’ll refer to past Halo games or even other franchises.

First Impressions:

  1. The weapons sound and feel great with the exception of the new pistol — haven’t used it enough to relay specific complaints but I will revisit
  2. the jump is TERRIBLE — part of the fun of a Halo game is the airborn gunfighting… Infinite completely destroys it, disappointing
  3. combat and gunplay feel crunchy and sharp - miles better than Halo 5
  4. there are a ton of grenades going around, significantly more than other shooters
  5. there is some stiffness to the bots animations… can’t put my finger on it
  6. level design - I’m digging both of the maps so far. I can already identify some great choke points that will lead to epic moments!

Only played from Halo 3. I would like to add my own voice, but this is all against bots so ymmv I guess.

  1. Love most guns, pistol included (a tad under powered?) while combat rifle seems a bit op perhaps? Haven’t had much time with others. Shield pop, though, feels less than obvious, especially my own!
  2. Happy we’re not doing floaty butterfly fights anymore. Not realistic. Hard to brace a high powered rifle while floating anyway, always felt stupid.
  3. Combat does indeed feel quick and brutal. No argument here. Punchy stuff, just need better alarms for shields and health.
  4. Grenades. Seen few of em, though would appreciate better warnings. Had a few “oh… grenade at my feet? Never saw bot throw that” moments.
  5. Bots. They are shivery shakey dippy bouncy sob’s!! Dear god I’ve rarely seen another player duck, strafe and bounce while still doming me. They’re -Yoinks!- tonight lol
  6. Maps feel tight. Quickly able to get a handle on area and while direct, they have over view areas.

Had trouble with applying skins, and WHY isn’t there a custom paint scheme?? WHY are we locked into pre-determined skin patterns??!! Also why do the helmets look like oversized lego versions??? And we’re gonna end up paying HOW MUCH for basic colour patterns on a gun??!!
