Received the store invitation, but Xbox insider hub did not display, nor received the steam code. The game was purchased on steam

If you received an MS store invitation email then you won’t get a steam code, your flight will run through the MS store. Make sure you are logging into the Store / Xbox Insider Hub app with the correct email address, you may have to log out of one or both apps and sign in with the correct details to see the build

But I am sure that the account I logged in is correct, or there is no test content

So far all instances of checking into issues like this, where the Insiders hub is blank, it’s always been that the wrong account is being used. It may not be the same email as your regular Gamertag if you use a different email address for communication in your Insider profile
