Don’t get me wrong, I love Halo. My criticisms are because I love and want what’s best for Halo.
Let’s face the facts. 343i has yet to release a complete MP experience. With Halo 4 there was no rank at launch and when it did finally arrive, you couldn’t actually see it. You needed to go online to see it.
Halo 5 was worse. Mind you I’m not talking gameplay here. Halo 5 launched with barebones arena modes. Barely any modes from previous Halo’s. No BTB. Limited starting playlist.
It was only after Halo 5 launched that Halo started to drip feed us content. Content that should have been there at the start.
Do you really think Infinite will be any different? Especially now that Halo will be a live service. Look at Sea of thieves (one of my favs) They hardly had content for years! Only since their update in April would I say the game is where it should have been 2 years. Same with Halo 5. It wasn’t a full game till a year or so after it released. That’s how live service works. Gears 5, Microsoft’s second big boy has an awful content drip. They are now only adding Dom after constant begging that they just please bring back some of the characters that were already in gears 4. If I remember correctly, by the time Gears 5 was already 6 months old it reached the same amount of content that gears 4 launched with.
Live service is manipulative and a gross business practice. it’s a service that thrives on promises and drip-feeding. It’s like this. let’s say you are extremely thirsty, and the only water around is sold by BBEG. I will give you water but only slowly if you want to have a normal, refreshing amount of water you need to keep coming back and getting it in drops. Only after long enough do you finally feel refreshed. After months of being strung along.
What reason do we have to believe that Infinite will launch with a full Mp experience at launch? Halo: Infinite is in a space where people are so uncertain if it will even have MP at all at launch. It only confirmed very recently that Infinite will have MP at launch. Does that give you confidence? This shouldn’t even be a concern.
The most important thing to look at is that they never confirmed MP will be a full experience at launch. Notice how they didn’t say it will be a full experience at launch.
There are 0 reasons to believe it will be until 343i specifically states that it will, which they won’t.
