I wanted to ask the community: Which ring do you think Halo: Infinite will take place on?
Here are some ones I’ve seen:
Installation 7
Installation 04c
I think, given that 04c was seen in Halo Wars 2 and possibly at the Legandary ending of Halo 5: Guardians, that 04c will be the ring it takes place on.
Cause think: Flood outbreak on ark during Halo Wars 2 could imply that some flood forms got onto 04C.
If it does happen on 7 I’ll be interested to see what they do with the lore.
Your thoughts/theories?
Nobody really knows which one it is yet but the majority believe it’s either Installation 04C or 07. I believe that it’s 04C because of halo wars 2 ending. Idk why they else they would have it be a focus of the game if it doesn’t show up in halo infinite.
A lot of clues from the Slipspace Engine trailer seem to point to Installation 07. Depending on the direction of the story, 07 allows them plenty of jumping off points. Forerunner shenanigans? The ring was where a Forerunner civil conflict was fought. The Flood? The ring might still have 20 Graveminds locked up as well as the Palaces of Pain which were major research hubs for the Flood. Ancient humanity? The ring housed a human population complete with ruins, might be a way to bring that plot thread from Halo 4 back into the fold.
Why not both? The trailer clearly hinted it at being 07 & HW2 ending tells us that 04c may be involved now that we know that Cortana knows about it. It wouldn’t be the first time a Halo game took place at different locations.
And as for the Flood being on 04C I don’t really know about that. I think the ring went into slipspace before the outbreak when the Flood were still contained.

Only reason I could think of going to Installation 09 (that’s the official name) is for Anders, but I think it’s safe to say she’d be scooped up by the Created. Otherwise, jumping to two different rings seems kinda like a waste of potential.

A human being is on a ring that just came out of slipspace or was intercepted from slipspace. Wouldn’t you want to know how or why? Maybe she thinks Anders may know why the portal isn’t working on Earth anymore.
I have a gut feeling its installation 07 a lot of clues and like Dr halsey said they have a lot of jumping points they can use in regarding to lore espesically with forerunners, ancient humans, and the flood and I believe its the biggest out of all 7 besides the ark of course
there’s not going to be flood on 04c if it’s the ring we see (and given the clues people are uncovering I think 07 might be a little more likely) because the flood was released after the ring left the ark. also given 07’s history, if you want the flood 07 might be the better option.

Installation 07 underwent catastrophic damage in the past which requires it jettisoning portions of it. It’s now the same size as the other rings.
Just thought you’d all like to know. Be really cool to see some of those scars still in place.
I would also like to point out that as of now that is still just a game engine trailer, not a trailer for the game. We dont know if it’s going to be on a ring at all.

True, but I think 343 has learned their lesson with catfishing their fans with misleading trailers so it’d be pretty safe to assume Infinite WILL take place on a Halo. Both H5G & HW2 endings tease that.

In my honest opinion…
There are just way too many clue/hints that point to the Halo being Installation 07.
Currently, there obviously isn’t complete confirmation of which Halo it is but I would be shocked if it wasn’t on Installation 07.

yea it is announcing the game as well also so many clues point to 07
Not sure, all I know is that Infinite’s campaign storyline has to expand for approximately 25+ years if it wants to connect to the events of Reach’s epilogue ending (2589). Spartan IIIs needs to return as well speaking of the case
All the evidence so far points to Zeta Halo, Installation 07. As for how Ander’s Halo, Installation 08 could play a role? I feel like we may see what happens to Anders and 08 In Infinite, but it will be presented in a way that either takes that ring out of the game or saves it for later.
Makes me wonder if Prof. Anders will side with Cortana, at least temporarily, and ask her to help the situation on the Ark. it would be mutually Beneficial to both of them. Cortana gets access to the only Installation currently out of her reach, and Anders gets help for the Spirit of Fire.
