So I’ve been playing the Halo Infinite beta and I’m enjoying the gameplay a lot, and the customisation is reminiscent of Halo Reach, my only complaint is the XP system, the fact that you don’t earn any xp for completing matches feels really off, you can go 5 games of Halo Infinite and only earn 100xp from a daily challenge which is nuts, it makes you feel like you need to buy tiers on the battle pass to make sure you complete it in time. All I ask is like 20xp or so per match to at least make matches worth playing.
I think most people agree with you. The 152 ranking system was better in my opinion and more rewarding.

The battle pass does not expire and you can take as long as you like to complete it, similar to MCC so I’m assuming that is there excuse for why it will take longer to complete the battle passes an rank up
Ya hopefully its scrapped when they see no ones doing the challenges. Having no normal xp/rank system was amazingly stupid
I really hope someone from 343 sees this and listens, I love the battle pass system and all the new customisation options it’s gonna bring but because the only way to earn XP is the challenges really makes it a pain to level up, please give us XP per match 343 please
I don’t even know what the point is to participate much during the matches. If the challenge is to complete a game you can pretty much afk your way through it.
i also don’t understand why there is even assist/kill/ and objective points in match since they literally mean nothing.
I will certainly lose interest in this game like I did Halo 5 if they keep it the way that it is. It gets very boring having zero progression from a match.

Yea that’s so true, there is no point in winning the game or getting kills if all of it amounts to no XP
I agree, we need a base reward fro a game completion.
Yeah currently it’s hardcore throttling to get people to spend cash on the store boosters

I really don’t know why 343 went with this system, I’m fine with a BP and it makes sense in a game made in 2021 however to have all progression tied to it just feels bad and unrewarding to play.
Add a leveling system like H5 or MMC has on top of the BP that is there to provide new content.
Its like halo 3 no xp for matches when you lose

From my estimation I would need to play roughly 1-2 hours every day of the battle pass to reach level 100. If I miss three days because of life events then I may have to double up for a few days just to get back on track.
If you only have a few days of the week to play then you are also at a disadvantage because you get progressively less xp with every few games played per day.
Generally a Battlepass that doesn’t expire is good, but by the time i get around to finishing one, there will already be another that I am behind on. The best armor will be at the end of each pass, so I will likely just have to choose between the one I like best.
Another point: No career rank and a bunch of unfinished battlepasses won’t feel rewarding or properly flaunt personal achievement.
The Battlepass will be difficult to finish for anyone who doesn’t no-life the multiplayer. I have never finished a battlepass in any game even when playing daily. Playing that much makes me take a long break from burn out. I’m just ranting to say: Please give me a Career rank like reach!
There isn’t any incentive to actually perform well or play the objective (other than the “challenge”). For the longevity of the game, this needs to change, and fast.
I dont mind having to complet challenges for the battlepass
But they should let us have a rank like in any other Halo game

I like that we don’t have a career rank because I can play and take breaks whenever I want and I don’t have to worry about having a low rank. It sucks whenever I play halo 5 I only have SR25 because I stopped playing it in favor of MCC so whenever I do play it I look like a new player.
In infinite I won’t have that issue and I also won’t have to ever worry about completing a battlepass either just like in MCC I can just pick ones with the armors I like and make my Spartan exactly how I like them and I can take as n as I want to get there and I wouldnt need to worry about it expiring like I did when I played Apex. I’ve only ever completed one battle pass in Apex and it took the better part of playing 6 days a week and over 2 months of play. (I’m not that good at competitive games) so in halo Infinite I happy I don’t have those problems anymore compared to other games. Having a career rank would basically negate all the benefits of having an un-timed battlepass because with a rank you wouldn’t want to skip too many days of play otherwise you wouldn’t rank up as quick as your peers.
Having no time limit on the battlepass and no rank makes halo infinite the perfect game to pick up and set down whenever you like and not feel pressured into it or making you worry about it if you play another game for a little bit.

Good! We shouldn’t care about winning or losing in a social game mode!
You wouldn’t care about winning or losing in a custom game. Why do you care in a social game?
If you want a badge to show off your achievements then play ranked mode. They will have rank progression in that mode and you will be able to display it and show how good you are. Having a normal career progression will just make players grind for rank or fall behind if they don’t play for a few months. Its pointless to have a badge next to your name that isn’t earned but just basically show how many games you played like in MCC. “oh look this guy is tour 8 he must have been playing for a long time vs this other guy who is tour 2” both are meaningless when you can just look at there stats and see there K/D and total playtime.

i wish they made the levels like halo 3 it was difficult but rewarding they gave you awards and armors and it was really fun this battle pass system for a standalone halo game is not the best

They’ve already seen it and commented. They’re exploring options for changing the system but it won’t come until post launch. This late in development they don’t have the scope for changing systems or features, the chance of it creating bugs is too high. Once the game launches they’ll start working on it and hopefully tweak the system more to the communities liking.

Agreed. This forum is full of people complaining about how sweaty social arena is, yet want to create a system that will directly incentivise teaming up and stomping through social games to boost XP. If being rewarded for winning and playing well is important to you then you should be playing ranked, that’s the place designed for that kind of experience. Social is there for people to kick back, relax and have a good time. You’ll progress through the daily challenges, but you don’t have to stress about constantly performing well. The only thing I’d like to see changed would be the daily challenges being made only one game for every tier.
