343 did promise us cross core customization for all coatings and visors and they just never talked about it ever since.
They drop the prices after backlash only for the prices to go back up due to “rarity” (lmao) when the heat is gone. There isn’t anything rare about spending money people do it all the time. Its not an achievement.
The performance on pc for a game that tries to be an esport leaves a lot to be desired even for an rx 6950xt owner and given how bad the game feels on mnk especially in br duels against controller players there is no wonder why there are so few mnk players still playing this game.
Sniper rifle still feels terrible both on mnk and controller.
There zero motivation for the people who paid 60 dollars for the game to hop back into campaign. Like shouldn’t people who bought the campaign get some sort of bonus that carries into multiplayer? Like campaign specific weekly challenges or something? I enjoyed the campaign but 343 just doesn’t give me a reason to replay it.
The game desperately needs firefight or some sort of PVE content where your multiplayer spartan is used. I like the gunplay of this game and shooting stuff in campaign feels great i just wish there was a cooperative mode where people could chill and relax after the “social” games (that have strict skill based matchmaking and manage to feel more sweaty than ranked at times). I know its an unpopular oppinion but am i the only one that wants firefight more than battle royal ?
Going off your title you only scratch the surface. Personally, with all the hype they presented, “promises”, etc… it’s a shame that infinite isn’t even close to what they said was to be expected.
Ofc there are more issues i just dont have more time to state everything wrong with it. The biggest one i feel its pve is non existent and its a shame.
i love the core gameplay and artstyle as well thats why its bothering me they did good on the hard parts and managed to ruin the game in other ways. Halo 5 more updates than halo infinite and it wasnt a live service game. Halo infinite charges you 60 just for the campaign that was the price for the full game of all other halos and has microtransactions but it doesnt get the service. The only thing live about this game are the microtransactions. I would gladly pay for more maps instead of skins
I think people forgot about the firefight in the other halos and i dont see many people complaining about the lack of it in infinite. PVE would feel great with the gunplay of this game as well as the equipment. I would rather have that instead of a battle royale
In the short term, to build back some fan goodwill, one of the best single things they can do is to decrease core locking limitations on as many helmets, coatings and visors as possible (other armor components may be less feasible to cross-core, but these are probably enough to satisfy most players). 343i’s complete silence on their prior stated plan to begin this process over the past few months is very concerning. The way it was presented in the community stream, it seemed to me as though the drop pods through S2 would start lifting the core locks, but there wasn’t any word on whether or not that was even in the plans for the later ones when we got Drop Pod 1… It does beg the question of whether 343i is going back on their word, here. And if they are, they absolutely deserve a metric -Yoink!-ton of flak for that.
That would be something (presumably somewhat) simple to get the ball rolling on, but which would make the customization so much better and create more value around cosmetics, since they would become more versatile/desirable to players (you’d think they’d want this).
I also agree wholeheartedly that more PvE content is essential to a solid overall Halo experience (more than Co-Op Campaign.) I’ll be shocked if we get something like this before Q4 2023 at the earliest, though. In the short term, something that would at least be throwing a bone to PvE fans would be to incentivize campaign play by providing a PvE weekly challenge deck like in MCC. I’m not confident this will happen, but it would be another huge improvement over what we have today.
Content wise we are probably a couple of game-types and a handful of maps short of where I think we should (at least) be. But I can live with that.
They need to fix desync. Number one issue. And even though I am (touch wood) not particularly afflicted with it - it creates a level of mistrust in the game that needs to be fixed ASAP.
Forge is coming. And that will shore up it’s short and medium future. Providing of course it a) works, and b) 343 support and encourage the community. There needs to be an established pathway for getting your maps and scripts out there (browser) and even “published” by 343 as content.
this was especially noticed for me with halo 4 where everything customization was able unlocked only by multiplayer, and completing campaign on legendary was only given an armor set “117 armor” wow so noobie. this was so terrible and amateur, bungie allowed things to be unlocked in campaign, and ensemble studios too, a lot.
It really does astound me with the wealth of extremely talented people who have worked at 354 how we have ended up here. I thibk lack of tenute and short-term contracting may be one of the biggest issues.
While challenges and such would be nice, Old halo campaigns didn’t need something to force people to play it again. It was just a good campaign with cool segments and moments, that made you want to experience them again, or try new way of doing it.
Infinite’s campaign is so repetitive that I just wanted it to be over.
Lack of any PvE “career mode” where we can actually take our multiplayer Spartan from these endless training games to deployment to actual activities and missions against Banished and Endless forces. Like “defend the UNSC facility from Banished invasion” type events. These “firefights” take place on maps even larger than the current BTB maps and have many points of interest. No Flood oriented modes or anything remotely resembling clearing Flood infections. The reason I play Halo is to fight Covenant, Banished and Flood because those are really challenging and fun enemies to fight. Many people like PvP and the challenge of competing against other Spartans but I don’t I want a more cooperative team based activity.
