This is terrible. I played more than 1500 hours of Halo 5’s Firefight!

Firefight NEEDS to be in infinite. It’s a fan favorite and it’s always the most popular Playlist. I’m hoping for both styles big open areas like halo 5 and smaller maps like reach.

I could see that happening. You go to academy to do training and they view firefight as a training simulation for enemies.

it does not NEED to be in infinite. Out of the main pillars of Halo, its prob the weakest (multi, forge, campaign, firefight). Its also really only been in 2 games and 1 additional being just in name (I do not consider warzone firefight a true version of Halo firefight).
I am not saying its a bad mode, far from it. But in the context of required modes, thats the lowest on the list givwn forge = longevity, multiplayer = popularity, campaign = perception. Firefight is a bonus. Id be disappointed if it wasnt there, but I also dont expect it to be there.
Do all firefights, 4 player mm, 12 player mm, and custom firefight on forge levels. I don’t mind if it’s added to the game later on as long as it’s fun.
Though I feel like I too would like a version of Firefight in Infinite similar to the small scale seen in ODST and Reach as well as the larger scale Warzone Firefight, I would like another evolution to Firefight for Infinite.
The long-short of what I would enjoy would be on the scale of Warzone Firefight (12 or more Spartans) on a large scale map with multiple bases. But instead of just the wave based mode, have us protect UNSC outposts in a section of the ring. Which could be just one of the playable areas from the campaign. Give bases the ability to be upgraded ektb defences, either walls or better turrets to take out armor or banished Dropships. Of course it’ll continue to escalate with more enemies and stronger enemies such as brute chieftains and more. And if they don’t give us the pelicans to fly ourselves(which they should) maybe at least a “fast travel” system between outposts where Pelicans can ferry us between bases which could give us Assault on the Control room or The Covenant vibes from the old campaigns.
I basically want to feel Halo Wars on the ground. XD

I’d lean toward the more-likely side.
Given the work they’ve put into enabling AI Spartan bots in multiplayer, seems like it would be a waste not to apply that to some sort of PvE mode, whether Firefight or something close to it. They could be lazy about it and just use the same MP maps, don’t need Firefight-specific ones

I don’t know what’s more terrible, that there is no firefight in Infinite, or that you managed to endure H5’s firefight for 1500 hours. But yeah, it would be stupid to remove such an important feature, unless they want to make it like Warzone firefight.

“The hardest choices require the strongest wills” Beats grinding against sweats in arena I guess. The game lacking core features at launch would be terrible for the game, really hope thats not the case.

it has the potential to be one of the best core modes of halo. look at CoD zombies, a huge chunk of CoD’s playerbase just buy the games exclusively to play zombies. halo can pull off a fantastic horde mode, it just needs to be fleshed out with more unique mechanics and objectives.
I definitely want Firefight. I want to have many of the weapons and vehicles available and I want to be able to call on them from a req station, not have to be in the right place for some random drop.
I worked hard on Halo 5 and set personal records of 347 kills and 133 headshots, but honestly the most fun is just doing it with friends. It is Halo, but with your Spartan and your story behind him/her.
After hearing watching video on YouTube yesterday from Halo I can’t see firefight being at launch. And I’m not sure it will even be in game. It sounds like Halo Infinite will play like destiny live service so there will always be PVE in the open world.
