As halo fans what games are you all playing while we wait for infinite and why? I haol infinite doesn’t live up to your expectations what game will replace it as your go to single and multiplayer shooters and is there a feature in these games you want in infinite itself? Just curious to see where the community is right now and what they consider to be safe for halo features. We are quick to point out what we feel 343i did to ruin things but perhaps you have an idea that might be totally not halo to other fans. Let’s see what we really feel is the basis of the magic.
As far as MP goes I’d probably still be playing H5 at least a little bit but after they ruined the BR I lost interest in it. I’ve been playing Apex since launch and still enjoying it so I could see myself playing it until Infinite comes out. I’ll probably still keep playing it alongside Halo honestly as they are very different games. Apex for my BR, Halo for my arena. Besides that I’m always working on my backlog of SP games. Currently playing Styx Master of Shadows and Darkness 2, before that I recently beat Half Life 2 and Castlevania Mirror of Fate. Once I’m done my current two I’ll move on to another 2, always playing at least one SP game at all times.
My main thing for Infinite is keep fair starts and no ordnance, as long as that doesn’t change I’ll probably enjoy it.
I forgot to say. Currently playing goblin sword, chrono trigger and DMC3 right now. Outerworlds and sekiro before that. I think doom eternal will take over until I get cyberpunk. Thinking of hopping back into titanfall2 mp.
If Infinite doesn’t satisfy my love of Halo, I’ll probably just go back to playing MCC. The nostalgia is just too strong for me. Also probably venture more into Gears. It’s a cool franchise with some fairly deep lore that I have yet to dive into yet. I’m in it for the story, so if Gears has a good story with solid EU material, then maybe I’ll take the plunge.
As far as features, I really just want some original trilogy features in Infinite. Simple sandbox, normal movement mechanics, and stuff like that.
If Infinite isn’t classic, I’ll just keep playing MCC, the only place to get actual Halo gameplay nowadays.
Other than that, I’m having a huge backlog I still need to get rid of. Probably the occasional MMO once in a while. But none of these games are meant as a replacement for Halo, just as an addition to it.

Gears lore is cool. Worth a look. But don’t take it too seriously or it might be less enjoyable l.
I’m a campaign first player, so the MCC soaks up a ton of my Xbox time. I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into Doom Eternal when that hits next month. Other than that? I’ve been playing Smash Bros Ultimate on my Switch a ton lately and have also recently acquired a large CRT tv to relive a lot of my memories from the fourth, fifth, and sixth gen consoles.

Might as well not even buy it then. Infinite is going to have sprint and probably some other abilities too. Halo is “actual” Halo regardless of it having spartan abilities or not.
Still playing MCC and will be looking forward to a new battlefield game. I’m content knowing infinite will probably be another flop considering the trend with this company.

If Infinite isn’t classic, I won’t. I already didn’t buy H5G for exactly that reason. If 343 wants my money, they need to deliver something worthwhile…

Solid advice, thanks. When I first started playing Gears I thought the premise was ridiculous. Then I realized that was the whole point. Everyone is super jacked and toting around overpowered weapons that are fun to use. Even my boy Carmine (RIP to all the Carmines) got roided out by the third game.

Ya it’s really not afraid to be what it is and not try to be this deep narrative. It’s sort of b horror meets b action tied together by a really solid aesthetic and surprisingly competent dialogue. 5 takes a narrative turn but is for the most part fun.
chances are I’ll play infinite for at least 6 months after release no matter how the gameplay is because, that’s been my track record with every other halo game. despite what ever issues I end up enjoying the game for what it is.
I just like experiencing new halo stuff. as far as other games, I’ve mostly been relying on nintendo games for single player stuff like a handful of zelda titles, smash bros, a few metroid games I’d like to get back to once school work starts dieing down, and playing minecraft on my switch. considering learning how to make my own addons then building a minigame world so I can open a realm for friends. I’ve also played some outerworlds on gamepass and will probably get it on switch.
multiplayer wise, I’ve just been playing mcc, occasionally minecraft on the xbox with friends, and battlefront 2. the only feature really that I want from any of those for infinite is the social playlist feature from mcc but with the option to select games that require different player counts because sometimes I feel like putting swat and btb fiesta in the same playlist but I can’t because of that reason; but I’m usually not in a fireteam so exceeding the limit would never be the issue. I don’t think this counts as a feature, but I would like infinite to have large scale multi-objective multiplayer modes like in battlefront 2.
