While sprinting adds increased movement, I feel it’s only an artificial presence to make the player feel as if they’re moving faster as the maps are designed to be bigger to accommodate. Sprinting also decreases the value of using vehicles in halo, which is a classic feature. Please remove sprint in infinite as it would help the game to feel more like “halo”.
I do not support this notion at all. Sprint doesn’t create an artificial presence if said ability acomodates slide and different interactions with environment. Truthfully H5 made the mistake of giving all the power to the player and not the sandbox.
Furthermore what made Halo feel like Halo was the fact that the sandbox (weapons, pick ups, vehicles) came first before the very own player. If anything making the AR always the default spawning weapon and not the BR would make the game better as the BR dominates at all ranges, this would once more make it so scavenging for resources in the map is more important than jumping head first into an encounter with an all utility weapon.
Once more, if the sandbox and maps are made correctly to interact seemlesly while working and evolving the triangle then there shouldnt be any trouble.
I mean come on, H:Reach was truly a mess, sprint, only really in H5.
Indeed those points are very valid! However. It’s been tested on the truth map across halos, and despite the sprint function the time from point to point is the same across the halos despite sprint in halo five and not in the others.
