Halo Infinite XGS Press Kit 2020

Wow guys are we having a real great schysme in the community ?

For me I’ll wait, it was just a demo gameplay of the campain only, we don’t really know on what kind of hardware the demo was played (One X, Prototype of the series x, maybe final design series x or even on a pc), and the live was on youtube on 1080p max with theyre crappy compression algorithm who need improvment. I’m not taking the defense of 343 I’m also seeking answer about some design choices and the graphic quality in general of the demo, but there is so much variable we don’t know.

Also blaming can sometimes lead the devs to make improvment in the work but let’s just go with tossing rocks for the moment and not going full assault with fuel rod canon. Since the game is still in dev i’ll wait to see more to choose if i’ll go with thoose who defend the game or go with thoose with critisize it.

My theory for the flyting is that we have to wait until multiplayer showcase to know about maybe campain and multiplayer flight dates.

Thanks for reading, correct me if I’m wrong somewhere and sorry if write with a broken english, I don’t really speak or write in english often since it’s not my mother tongue.

Have great day spartans, elites or whatever you are in this god -Yoink!- galaxy.

Maybe its time for Halo to stop using their own engine, Unreal 5 Engine puts these graphics to shame. This game would have been fine if it released 3 years ago on the Xbox One, but it is not a very good showpiece for the Series X. Still looks fun though.

guys calm down with the complaints the graphics are obviously being polished

It´s beautifull this art, saw yesterday all the trailers and the demo for like an hour and I realized that the Demo Trailer is way better looking that the actual demo, I think it was marketing strategic some of those horrendous parts, but most of the demo I liked it, the physics and putting an Open World on the Halo franchise will extend the game for years, I have big hopes about Halo Infinite and it will bring back some of the amazing things from Bungie, but making new things like the grappler.

The game looks terrible as an “Xbox Series X launch title”, it is years behind anything cutting-edge, even in the current generation. It’s just bland, lifeless and uninteresting. It even has nothing in common with the Slipspace Engine tech video released a few years ago. Extremely disappointing. On the other hand, we have to keep in mind that this is an Xbox One game at its core, and it has to run a huge open world, which has its compromises. Unfortunate, because it makes Xbox looks ridiculous in light of the competition.

And yet it still looks just as bad in the 4K upload to YouTube that followed afterwards. Only now it looks just as bad, but sharper.

The gameplay looked like it had potential but the visuals are appallingly lacklustre for a title in 2020 that’s meant to be able to show off the best of the new platform.

Just want to post my two cents here, if anybody cares to listen. I played Halo: Combat Evolved on the original Xbox and on the PC. I’ve always enjoyed playing Halo, all the way through to the latest games. Halo 5 left somewhat of a poor taste in my mouth (choppy storyline, needed more emphasis on Master Chief & Cortana relationship, etc.) and wasn’t really all that memorable for me.

Well, I watched the campaign trailer for Halo Infinite on YouTube in 4K and came away impressed. I don’t know why people are complaining about the graphics. I think they did a fantastic job of marrying the classic Halo look with the modern era! Personally, I think it looks really good! We’re not talking about Far Cry levels of realism here–that’s never been the Halo art style and I’m glad that they didn’t go that route. Not to mention that the music in the campaign is, at times, reminiscent of classic Halo and reminds me of the original games. Bringing back the Halo 2 armor was a great idea. So, I see the design and gameplay as hearkening back to the series’ roots, which is a far better idea than taking it completely out of character (although the open-world component is still suspect to me; I’m curious to see how this plays out).

The crash landing of the escape pod / space craft with Chief and the Pilot really brought me back to that second level in Combat Evolved. In fact, this whole campaign trailer is very reminiscent of the “Halo” level from CE. The Chief awakening from “stasis” out in space during the original trailer is reminiscent of the first game and level. Talk about a spiritual reboot! It makes quite a statement! And I’m glad that the game is coming to Windows 10, as I’m primarily a PC gamer, and I hope Halo will continued to be released on PC going forward.

I just dont get the hate over graphics when its not even about graphics, the thing ppl hate is artstyle. Its like saying borderlands have terrible graphics when its not realistic. Yeah i wont say that it dosent need little work on the details but artstyle itself is fine, style like this wont get old so fast as if they aim to be 100% realistic

Such an amazing looking game! Cant WAIT! #teamgrapple

Loved the art style, not having realistic graphics does not break an experience. Do not give into negative criticism, be confident with the direction studio has taken.

I agree with this statement. And it looks pretty darn good to me! Let’s not forget that we’re talking about 4K at 60 FPS here. I can tell you that, coming from PC gaming, that’s not an easy task to pull off without some pretty beefy hardware.

Im looking at this in context of what is it that 343 might have wanted to accomplish here. I think the following:

  1. Show off the vastness of the world somewhat
  2. Let fans know that while it’s more open it still has the classic Halo feel
  3. Show off smooth gun play and battle mechanics and some new weapons

And I think they did a great job of these, although I’m kinda concerned with the “classic Halo feel” because it made me feel like, I’ve done all of this already and maybe that’s just me being burned out. But I’ll wait for further information for sure. Things like graphical fidelity can change pretty quickly so I’m not going to freak out over it. I worry more about if I have just hand enough and if there’s nothing “new enough” under the hood to keep me playing.

I am confused…

So now the community complains when we get a more “old school” Halo vibe from infinity - and remember this wasn’t the final version and you probably watched it on some crappy screen @ your house with 25 up and 5 down lol

We didn’t want Halo 5 (2.0)

Absolute 10 out of 10 so far for look and feel. Hoping we get our BR (the gun) though!!!

Cheers

Pre-release flighting basically got shot down in the News post by Chris Lee. The wording isn’t very explicit, because it backtracks on the expectation of playing before release.

I’m gonna give this solid “Meh”. Nothing that was shown blew me away, nothing to get super hyped about. Like, this was the big reveal after all this time and this is what you put out? Then again, on the whole I wanna say the entire show case was a disappointment.

So I’ll just hope it gets better in the coming months.

I saw many people complaining about the graphics and after reading some response comments, I must say that I agree with their opinions: Sometimes I feel that it is more for the detail than the artistic style, that you can see that mix between the classic and the new.
For a while, after reading some comments, I end up confused: It turns out that now that it has turned to a more classic style of art, it bothers them just the same. I no longer know if it is looking for the problem or that they do not settle for anything, because they would not like it to look like a Halo 5, or do they?
That if also, there are other things that have to be polished, such as the facial animations of the brutes xD, or weapons and others, although from what I saw in the third trailer, that would already be done since, for example, a Mangler with higher resolution and additional details that were not in the main gameplay trailer, which seems to me well on the way.
For the rest, I hope they polish those details and certain aspects that need work, in addition to adding blood when killing or shooting enemies, and I say this because they are almost at the level of Halo 5, and there I do not agree so much. I would prefer something more similar to Halo CE or 2, even 3, where it is even noticeable and gives it some … “realism” ?, I don’t know how to describe it, but hopefully they can add that.

Reminds me so much of Halo:CE and I love it!

Graphics, smaphics. About 90% of the people on here just want to see a multiplayer reveal that makes Halo great again. I think the best Halo gameplay since Halo 3 was the brief run H2A had. That game would have been boss if it wasn’t for the lack of content since it was smashed into MCC. As far as Master Chiefs movement and smoothness of aim seemed in the infinite campaign demo, I’m optimistic that this could actually be a great new Halo game. It’s all going to lie in the multiplayer maps, playlists, ranking system, competitive circuit, and cutting out the bullcrap like armor lock, jetpack, personal camo. I’m hoping they use a pickup system like H3 so people aren’t just running around using the most annoying classes. Back to basics. Aim, communicate, map control, weapon control.

I agree, a multiplayer demo could go a long way in showing the improvements and what a lot of people seem to want to see. And regarding the mechanics, I agree and I love that it has gone back to the simplest mechanics and reduce the rest, since things like sprinting or sliding are very secondary and not at all like Halo 5. In fact, much of the gameplay is see how he just goes forward and shoots, no need to be running and using all kinds of movement mechanics and so on. I also agree on the equipment and I think it’s great that it has become like Halo 3. In summary, I totally agree, I am also very optimistic about what can come and what is coming, and to wait and play Halo while xD

You’re telling me! I think there is enough hype and a good game will speak for itself. If the multiplayer is great they’ll see record sales.
