Halo Infinite Xbox?

What are the odds that Halo Infinite will be released with a custom Xbox Series X? I have the Halo 4 360, and I have the Halo 5 Xbox One. I have yet to purchase the newest generation because I’m waiting for the Infinite Xbox to be released.

I guess my question is, what are the odds I’ll be forced to pick between buying a normal Xbox and playing right away, and waiting a month or so to get the custom one?

I am willing to bet one will be announced at this years E3 at the games showcase. The trouble will lie with scalpers, however.

I’m not ruling it out entirely, but… personally I don’t think it’s going to happen for 3 reasons:

  • Series X shortage - even getting one right now is harder than many limited edition consoles. - Infinite’s delay. If there had been one planned I’d have expected it to be already well into production when the delay happened and given the shortages… it would be madness to have kept consoles on the shelves for a year. - If they hadn’t been planning one for the original launch: have they had time (esp given the shortages) to plan one since. If it happens… I’d not be surprised if it doesn’t until retailers have series x on the shelves consistently.

Even though what you say is true there isn’t a reason why an announcement of a Halo themed console can’t be made. Bonnie or Phil could let the Xbox Community know about the existence of it, reveal the design, but say it won’t be available on the games release but will be coming next year… or something like that.

Now while that might hurt sales of the game because players will undoubtedly want to hold out on buying it, simultaneously to the reveal they could announce that purchasers of the Xbox One version of the game will receive a free X/S upgrade when the themed console is released.

It’s already confirmed as Smart Delivery and Play Anywhere isn’t it?

Oh absolutely- does not prevent announcement, but I highly doubt we’ll see it in 2021 unless in exceptionally small numbers

They may get a special edition, but honestly I could not tell you yes or no. Although I don’t think there are so many possibilities.

Out of curiosity were would you place your bets as the most likely time frame for a potential console? I definitely plan on getting the S over the summer and then just selling and upgrading when and if a special edition drops.

Put a skin on it and there you have your console special edition

I’m all about that self customization life, but I will never be able to compete with the artistry and work that comes with an official product. Plus adding another halo console to the collection is just satisfying.

Missing a few things, such as the custom versions always coming with extra stuff, the power and eject buttons making special noises and limited edition controllers as well.

Plus imagine looking through the collection and saying here’s this rare one, here’s this rare one, and here’s Dave

Impossible. Manufacturing is already a nightmare.

Agreed.
Would I like one, yes. Am I likely to get one, most likely not.
If they do attempt an LE console, I imagine they would make maybe 100, individually numbered, and likely used for promotional purposes.

No idea. Depends on timeframe of the supply issues sorting themselves out.

I could even see them doing something like a preorder sign up: put your name down pre-manufacturing with a small deposit then pay for the balance before delivery

I could see them releasing them when the next part of Halo’s 10 year plan comes out maybe with a Series X slim.

Since it didn’t happen at launch, I bet we don’t see a Halo Infinite themed Xbox until the first huge DLC.

Not just the first DLC after launch. I’m talking about the first major content release that will get dropped kind of like how it seems Destiny 2 gets huge content updates every now and then, with mini drops in between.

Hopefully they’ll give a hard release date, announce the different editions and address what they’re going to do to avoid the scalpers by online sales at E3. I’d love to get that info…as for scalpers it should be in-store ONLY preorders for any editions higher than the standard; aside from directly from Microsoft.

im still holding out hope for an Infinite exclusive console. If there isn’t one then I guess I’ll need to make some moves to score a series X. I want to boot Infinite up on a series X regardless of the console situation Day 1.

Agreed, E3 will be interesting this year for a number of reasons Halo. I know I will be watching a bit more closely this year than most.

I am pretty sure they will, haha I can never wait for it. I thought I read an article somewhere that they were teasing a team up with Razer for Halo Infinite headset instead of Astro like they did for the H5. I have the H5 Astros, I would like a Razer Halo Infinite headset if it looks sweet.

This.

I really hope that Microsoft has learned or has come up with some ideas from watching things throughout the last year with all the scalpers. I hope there’s some sort of barrier put in place so that say, 60% or so of the consoles have to be purchased in person, and limited 1 per household. It’s obviously not a perfect thing cause scalpers can still do things with that, but who knows…

I just really hope I get that console. I’ve had money set aside for it for years.

(just hit ODST iron) :D!!!

I would not he surprised if 343 has a half dozen prototypes of Halo Infinite Xbox Series X/S consoles in the studio even with the possibility of most of them being just nonfunctioning props. The gpu/computer chip shortage is going to be an issue for production though and its looking to be a persistent issue.
