Halo Infinite X/S

So to start this off I want to say the game from what’s been recently shown looks better than last years E3 showing. But what I’m wondering is wether it will have an Xbox series X/S touch up?.

I mean it may have been naive of me to buy into it but the Slipspcae Engines reveal trailer gave me real hope that Infite would look THAT good. So far from what’s been shown off I don’t think it’s even close. We went for a a beautiful trailer that looked gritty, intriguing and yet still vibrant to a gameplay reveal (last years E3) that looked like it was paid for by Mega blocks. Pop in, lack of texture and real time lighting and a colour pallet that was just OTT.

as I said the game does look markedly better but still nowhere near the graphical beast the Slipspace Engine showed off. To anyone who says gameplay>>>graphics I agree!. But given the powerhouse that is the series X I don’t see why we shouldn’t expect both amazing gameplay and amazing detail from games especially a flagship title such as Halo.

I think if nothing else, this post proves that using in-engine trailers is generally pretty misleading. Naming things as ‘Pre-Rendered’ Cinematics or Gameplay Videos feels like the best way to make a distinction between what we see and what we get.

What we’ve seen recently is likely the most marketable version of the game as it is now. It is the best looking version of the game which should reflect what the game looks like on the Series X/S. This is your Series X/S touch up. If you don’t like current content, you’re really not going to like the Xbox One versions of the game.

Slipspace IS still a thing?

Someone gave a word of warning a day or two before the big reveal and said the graphics won’t be top notch during E3, so I’m sure they’re still a work in progress. They have five months to work on it, I’m ok with being patient.

I bought an x just for halo infinite

The game is still in the polishing stage. Wont be judgin till its release.

Straight out of the gate it will just be resolution and frame rate advantages (120fps for the win) on the high end xboxes.

As developers get their heads around the new architecture (usually takes a gen or two of games) and the Slipspace engine matures - we will see the S/X start to pull away.

A year or two and the original xbox one’s will be dropped and the game can then start to flourish in it’s new ecosystem.

I don’t think Halo should ever be a state of the art graphics juggernaut. That would have to come at the expense of world size, enemy numbers, and general carnage.

It looks great already. It will get better though with time… Just need to be patient.
