So I know this may be old news but I know a lot of people who don’t know about this. When the Game awards held their players choice awards competition Halo Infinite won it in a landslide. And most amusing of all Halo Infinite wasn’t even out yet…not even the technical preview was out. Halo became one of the only games to do that but well the award didn’t age well and here we are…
Back when the game first came out, things felt off. I kept thinking it was just me feeling this way since everyone else was really enjoying the game. About 2 weeks in I asked my friends if they felt the game felt a bit strange. Apparently I wasn’t alone in this belief.
By the third week, most of us were done with the game. It felt like a bad PC port when aiming, desync was awful, we kept lagging out of matches, and due to SBMM it was difficult to find a game with friends.
It won game of the year, but I think we all expected it to come out of beta after week 3. We’re over a year in and it still feels like a beta.
All the award shows became a joke a long time ago. I can’t even remember when I bothered to watch or even pay attention to one of them… And that is a perfect example of why.
To be fair, COD and Battlefield released in even worse states. Halo won by default in comparison. But COD and Battlefield caught up while Halo couldn’t hold onto its lead.
Well no Battlefield is still worse.
Battlefield has more active players. ![]()
But is it a better game? (No)
