Halo Infinite with weapon and vehicle variations

Recently, I have been playing a fair amount of warzone in Halo 5, and the game play heavily involves the different variations of the original vehicle and weapons sand box (These variations are also present in the campaign). The Halo 5 req collection has variants of almost every weapon and vehicle in the game and a lot of these reqs are quite useless however, some such as the sniper rifle variant the Nornfang are praised among the halo 5 community. My question is whether these weapon and vehicle variations are wanted in Halo Infinite.

They will return, however in what manner is unknown.

I think if they take the feedback seriously they will allow players(in the game modes that allow them) to customize the attachments of default weapons rather than having them as preset weapons.

Also if they are going to bring back microtransactions, please dont implement that into the $60 game we end up buying. If you make a f2p game mode like cod or something then i wouldn’t mind. At least in that way, the player base will be much higher and active.

honestly, I hope most of them are scrapped completely. I have no issues with some maps having “special” visual variants like Prophets Bane, but the entire weapon and vehicle variant system outside of say the warthogs, just seems pointless when there is no “random” reward loot pool (reg pack system). Right now anyway (it better stay that way lol)

Most of the mid tier reqs need to go. A slight change to ammo cap, overheat rate or accuracy isn’t worth it. But things with actual function changes are good. Blissful slumber, voids tear etc are good example but I’d like to see the models actually change with it.

Same with the vehicles. Get rid of the slight armour upgrades and just make them skins only. But the Oni/hannibal and ultra variants should remain.

Hell you know how there’s 3 styles of banshee? Make the H1-3 variants a more armoured and slower version, the reach one faster with less health and the H5 one with the shield as another version. Three things that’ll play slightly different that can be mixed and matched on maps and also be tuned to the many plastyles of halo.

Let’s have more variants that actually are variants. Think of the wraith. Got the standard. Got the AA. And we got the ultra. Now let’s add one that has a mass needle launcher like the grunt goblin. Or one that has quad plasma cannons. Or one that rapid fires concussion style rounds. The possibilities are endless

I wouldn’t mind weapon variants. Vehicle variants were soemtimes useful depending on the enemies but for the most part were bland for most of them.

I hope they do the hanniable line of unsc vehicles were just awesome

I’d have to concur, the hannibal mantis was superb.

I agree that the different environment variants need to go (tundra, urban, etc) and that the oni and hannibal and ultra should remain because having like 7 or 8 variants for one vehicle type is just a waste.

I would like to see all the variations of weapons and vehicles return because when you get to a certain req level it feels like you kinda accomplished something.

I hope the whole concept of REQ is gone. Unlocking cosmetics is one thing, but the whole sandbox should be accessible to all players from the get go. BF like weapon and perks unlocks just doesn’t fit with the arena style of Halo imho.

Variants should exist, but those should be designed with a specific map and/or game-mode in mind imho. Even Warzone!

In case the mode comes back it should have loadouts like in Reach over REQs imo. Premades by 343i that is! After every phase and base conquest the team unlocks better loadouts, friendly AI, automatic defences and get vehicles via a garage and dropships. Just an idea, but in great lines a system similar to this is what Halo needs! As long as loadouts are limited to Invasion and Warzone and CAN’T be personalised that is!

Long story short, the stuff is on the map for everyone day one and everyone has the same chance to get it through gameplay, not random cases or battle passes! REQs are outrageous and need to go!

Who remembers the “shut up son, grown ups are talking” video? I believe it’s the most disliked piece of Halo media ever uploaded on YT and rightfully so! Never again please.

I saw that video too late, it would have saved me money. I agree on everything else you posted, especially REQ packs, hopefully it’s good riddance once and for all.

Weapon and vehicle variants should exist, but only in the right capacity in their suitable environment. I do not want a microtransactions-based Req system, and keeping it purely for cosmetics is such a hollow idea that Favyn beats tenfold in his latest video. I would highly recommend it, as he has great suggestions on how to strengthen our community.

I agree with you on the point of the vehicles and their slightly up-armoured variants. However, I think the weapon variants with ammo cap, RoF, etc upgrades should be kept. First, I do enjoy the upgrade in many of the weapons. Secondly, it makes sense for balancing. Let’s take the SAW, for example. The common SAW and The Answer are incredibly different. It’s common knowledge the Answer is a beast. But it’s two REQ levels above the SAW. The gun that mediates between the two and allows the player too have fun in between levels 4 and 6 is the Appetite for Destruction. As you know, the AfD has a higher ammo cap and stabilisation jets (it may have more improvements but those were the ones that just came of the top of my head). It is in between the two guns, staying the SAW while still being better. This means that a player who has worked to get to level 5 has a better chance of survival than on who is on level 4, but still isn’t as good as the player at level 6. (if none of that made sense, please reply and tell me where I went wrong because I’m open to criticism)
However, most of the UNSC improved weapon variants don’t make sense from a lore standpoint so if you’re in it for the lore, then they’re pointless.

What I hope to see in Warzone’s successor (read NOT arena 4 vs. 4 matchmaking):

Spartans begin career with Standard Issue UNSC weapons. At spawn they are allowed to choose a primary of a DMR, Battle Rifle, Assault Rifle or SMG. The standard Magnum will be their secondary.

Completing combat milestones (e.g.: certain amount of perfect kills with specific weapon) permanently unlocks weapon variants, i.e.: ODST Recon SMG, Longshot AR, Silenced Magnum etc. which can be set as default spawn weapon in future matches.

I could live without the weapon variations, but the vehicle variations were fantastic especially in forge. I hope the vehicle variations return at least as a skin that can selected in forge, It’d be a significant loss to forge.
