halo infinite will be a free or open world or not?

will halo infinite be an open world like GTA or not? if it is i hope we are able to explore the world and do quest and all. Also make a place where you can have fun while you just dont have anything to do, like the tower or hanger on destiny, add but also have a place where you can go on a lobby and play other game mode such as slayer, FFA, BTB or other game modes in a different map that is not in free world. and please do not add battle royale game more or any dances, just don’t.

There is almost no Information about the Game yet. Its Impossible to say if it will have open world or not, but itz has been confirmed that 343i is not working on a Battle Royale mode.

They already said there is no BR mode

I do not want Halo Infinite campaign to be open world, and I really doubt it will be.

It would be cool to have a more open multiplayer experience though. It could be kinda like the open, social space in COD WW2. Players could walk around the UNSC Infinity and go to armor shops and gun skin stores(that you can purchase with xp or credits). When you’re ready to play arena, warzone, or spartan ops, you would just go to the section of the ship that holds that component. Imagine your teammates loading into a pelican from a UNSC warship and the pelican flying down from space into a warzone map to drop you off. Better yet, imagine doing the same thing in spartan ops.

If they use the same multiplayer explanation as they did in Halo 4 and Halo 5, then we should be able to walk around the ship and go to the “war games” when we’re ready. They could even do timed arena tournaments for all players that are in Infinity during a certain time period.

What do you guys think? I think stuff like this really takes the next step in submerging the player into the game. It would make you feel like you really are a spartan on the Infinity.

I think that a lot of players would actually think that is more annyoing. People would complain that you have to do a 5 minute walk or something just to go into matchmaking. The Idea sounds nice but if you have to go into that HUB area, then i think it should be left out.

i hope for a long long campaign and i prefer the open word for assault an ipotetic covenant base

Yeah, I could see it being annoying if it was mandatory. They could make it optional. You can start matchmaking from the pregame lobby if you want or you could launch into the social space and launch games from there.

Hopefully they make it semi open world like Combat Evolved.

I can’t say for sure what will happen, but having an open world halo like gta would be very interesting. If done properly, I believe it could go very well

Way too early to figure that one out. Though if they do, It would be highly helpful to 343 to take notes from Red Dead Redemption 2 in terms of level of detail and wildlife. From what I’ve heard and seen of RDR2, it will be a milestone for games in general due to it’s insane detail. Infinite, with it’s new engine, could possibly evolve such a marvel even further.

343 has said over and over again for two years that they heard the feedback from gamers and critics. People want a classic inspired halo game focusing on the chief.

I would bet Infinite feels more like H1-H3 than anything 343 has done before while maintaining some modern mechanics.

Which means no, HI week not be open world.

Linear has been always around for most first person shooters. I personally think it would be a nod to bungie if Open world almost like destiny Just without the raids that were used. MMO’s are a big genre. People like to earn stuff like gear and things that are hard to acquire to show there cool loots. And Halo has yet to cover that ground. Give Halo the mmo treatment, what do you have to lose?

yup

If infinite was a side game then I would say sure try an open world rpg type game. This Is a direct sequel to halo 5 and changing from a fps to an rpg fps would not be a smart idea

i hope for a more or less linear campaign like in the previouse titels. not everything needs to be “open World”, “games as a service” or whatsoever.

remember: such big worlds must be filled with something and most of the times it is filled with repetetive collecting objects quests, or repetetive strongholds, searching for chests or other trinkets and similar stuff to artificaly fill the world and extend the runtime of the game.

I doubt it’s an open world and frankly even though I think an open world halo would work I dont think a main line halo game should do anything other than a linear shooter style game. Leave that kinda stuff to spin offs. Having parts where can explore or choose which objective to do first like halo ce or the sword base mission in reach would be fine as long as the overall campaign is a linear mission based game. It’s already been confirmed that there’s no battle royale. And as for a separate hang out space like the tower, I wouldn’t say no but at the same time it probably isnt neccessary.

I agree.
I think we’ll see Infinite’s Individual missions taking on a more open approach to level design. Looking back at Halo CE, there were multiple missions with non-linear objectives. “Halo” allowed the player to search for the crashed lifeboats in any order they chose moving though a Central Valley cut though by a river.
“Silent Cartographer” allowed the player free range over the island. If you turned the hog around you could go open the door leading to the cartographer first if you wanted to.
Other missions, like AotCR had an entire section of interior space filled with Covenant to fight, but you didn’t have to take that route if you got a Banshee.
Level design like this- which the player becomes aware of multiple paths in subsequent play thoughts gives the campaign longevity.
That, along with hard to acquire skulls, hidden data drops and other Easter eggs, keep the players coming back to the campaign to explore.

there Is speculation of it being open world but nothing else beyond that

is there a video about it?
