343… i beseech you… if warzone is coming back… for the love of god, please just tell us!
certainly there must be something since it was popular and lucrative back in H5.
sure it has problems but surely you guys figured out ways to address the issues?
take some inspiration from Battlefield? like BF1 operations or BF5 breakthrough?
WARZONE has so much potential! and now you made bots that can actually FIGHT BACK and fun to shoot?
i would be depressed if there are no plans for warzone 2.0.
I think the lack of chatter about it means we are more likely to see it return in a future season. I would love to play Warzone if they get rid of the REQ system.
So many games have done it before but better, you start with an allowance and you gain money for kills, assists, objectives etc etc. You can buy smaller items or save up for bigger ones. As they game progresses the available items become greater and you can get bigger and better things.
As Warzone had so many REQ options make it so there are tiers and these tiers are either randomised (provided this doesn’t result in game breaking combinations) or have players be able to select what they want available before the game. E.g select 5 types of common weapon etc etc and in game you can buy any of those 5 for the lowest price.
Warzone was probably the most disappointing mode from H5. If you weren’t getting spawn trapped you were getting picked off by the guy who had more REQs to burn.

Warzone LATE into it’s run cycle was like this. Back in the beginning, before everyone had a pocket full of Tartarus’s Gavels, Warzone was pretty sick.
I really hope it will make a return in some form. I can’t imagine that BTB will be just a single playlist to queue with slayer/objective so I still have some hope for at least more BTB variations at release.
Warzone for me is still a very exciting and interactive game mode. The play and counter play of REQs, the mix between objectives, map control and slays for points really made me feel everyone could contribute in their own way. I know it was tainted with the MTX aspect and that sometimes bosses felt like RNG because of last hit registration but still very unique and very halo (mostly through including AI enemies and being able to play like the Spartan you wanted to be; vehicular, CQB defender, recon etc).
Competitive it was really interesting as well. There are a few YT channels with those matches so look them up if you are interested.
I have not heard a single peep since they started marketing for Infinite about either Warzone or Firefight. Part of me thinks this is because they are scrubbing both and are trying not to get people hyped for modes that won’t return. The focus seems to be entirely on Arena at launch. With other features being delayed, only to be placed in the live service funnel, I feel like it will be an entire year before we get any new modes really added to the game. I expect sometime around the 1st anniversary of Infinite we’ll see some news for upcoming new modes. I expect Firefight to make a return before Warzone, though.
I think it should work like this:
Every kill you get one point/credit. Everytime you die, you lose a point/credit. And if you get multikills, every multikill from double and more is one point. This way, spawn killing will not break the gamemode. And if you get killed 1min after spawning you won’t lose points/credit. This way won’t hurt the gameplay.
Also I really don’t expect a return of WZ because of its monetization model. I definitely think WZ could be re-implemented without REQ’s, maybe just using pick ups that are unlocked at your team’s main base as the game progresses, but I don’t feel like 343 would do it. IMO the best thing about H5’s REQ system was simply the weapon variants. I do wish those would return, even if not with WZ.

“The play and counter play of REQs, the mix between objectives, map control and slays for points”
it’s a mode that can’t be found anywhere else. its truly unique. the issues can be addressed like farming or having the center base determine who will win the match. so much can be done with it and if it isn’t in Infinite, it would be such a wasted opportunity
If 343 have any self respect they won’t bring it back. It’s one of the worst things ever added to the series, and an insult to multiplayer FPS games.
Being able to stack 2x/3x speed boost, damage boost, overshield etc on a whim on top of weapons which are already ridiculously powerful, because you so happened to have exclusive “cards” saved up that you earn faster by pumping real money into the game, is asinine.
The CE magnum coming back was already suspicious enough regarding weapon balance given how insane it’s 3SK to the head is, and yet you could slap a damage boost on that and run around 1 shotting people like you were playing swat.
And no, everyone running around one shotting each other with essentially overpowered weapons and crazy stat boosts doesn’t equal good balance. It just makes the game really stale and predictable.
Warzone was an interesting long term experience for me. In the first year after launch, it was crazy fun. And then as time went on it felt like players without large numbers of reqs were at such a big disadvantage it was crazy.
Like in year one you’d see one or two mythic reqs near the end of a lot of matches. H5 Warzone in 2021 is just crazy though. Every game has like 6 players using mythic vehicles (Hannibal Mantis, Phaeton Helios, Oni Scorpion, etc) on each team at the end, and everyone else is just cannon fodder

it very much was given you could spend money on Req packs and get all the higher tiered stuff. Once the match gets rolling, who ever has the higher tier reqs will run away with the game a majority of the time. Obviously you have outliars but if someone has a Hannibal Scorpion, its objectively better then a normal Scorpion. Sure you can grind for said version via RNG packs, or you can buy a bunch.
It tries to mask itself as non pay to win but it very much is.
As for your post, I hope they stay far away from Warzone as they can. Just not a fun mode and was meant to replace BTB. It didnt work

Nah, it’s pay to win. If you can’t beat the game with the equipment they give you and you have to use reqs just to stand a chance, it’s pay to win. Because you gotta pay for those reqs, because Halo 5 is very stingy with actual points given from a match.
