Do something about the community playdate
Some people got work to go too
It starts at 2pm my time, i work at 3pm and don’t get off until 11pm, so I’m going to miss out cause of the piss poor planning, should of been at least a 12hr thing or watchable on twitch so people who cant play can get the rewards

Just played 10 consecutive games on Amsterdam and Dublin servers at 18ms ping…so why does the game feel and play like a turd? The game feels proper laggy and wonky which is particularity noticeable for aim and movement with no change at my end, and the desync is worse than ever with the usual poor hit reg, kills around corners, broken melee, etc;

Clearly this must be a server or code issue as it is not ping related so why have you gone to town in blaming and banning geo filters? If it was geo filters then the game would feel much better for most players…but the feedback suggests that it’s clearly not (it’s a lot worse).

My evening ended with 2 games on Dallas servers at 118ms…the second was JIP, but both games were totally unplayable with the latency and desync. In fact. I would say in most cases the whole gaming experience this evening felt like it was RNG whether or not you kill or be killed.

ps. @343i…a lot of players finished the BP weeks ago so there is no need for us to complete challenges and your weekly reward are not worth changing how we want go play to get. At the moment there is very little to keep players engaged, interested or motivated to play…and that’s solely down to the terrible systems you have put in place.

I said it once and il say it again: the devs think we are kids, or dumb - or both. Throughout the whole experience they try to hold our hands.

  • You cant change the crosshair style, size and color

  • cant decide max ping

  • choose own color for enemies (not preset)

  • the biggest: making aim assist way to strong. I feel like once I’m near an enemy, it sticks and I’m good. Its way too noob friendly, excludes MnK players (a huge number the community could benefit of), makes the gap between a noob and a pro way to small.

Obviously the problem is not geofiltering or ping. This wonderful communication (/s) from 343 is all just smoke and mirrors to satisfy the ignorant peasants.

Also…

I experience the same thing. The first day after day after they banned geo-filtering i did not have any lag/desync and every game now was on the Amsterdam server (10-12 ping for me).

Since then i still almost always play on the Amsterdam server, yet the severe lag has returned. So instead of having high ping and severe lag, i now ‘only’ have severe lag… Still doesn’t make it playable…

Odly enough, the 2 times i did play on higher ping servers (120ms, most likely east-US), those matches where lagfree and playable… Could be a coincidence, but it’s almost like the EU-servers are just to small to handle the EU-playerbase or something…

has less aim assist then all other halos. the problem why it feels strong though is because if the joy sticks have input from the user, it will activate aim assist… for some people it doesnt feel strong, while others it does feel strong. This is due to one reason…stick drift…if you have slight stick you will aim better, because the game says “lets activate aim assist, because there is user input”, if you have stick drift you are getting aim assist 100% of the time vs a person with a new controller doesnt have stick drift and therefore wont get as good aim assit. Make sense? I figured this out when I bought a new controller and my aim went down by 5-10%…thats when I discovered it was because old controller had bad stick drift. Go try it out if you don’t believe me with bots.

The controller aiming mechanics and curves for this game are the same or worse than the old Halo, but the secondary aiming is much weakened, except that the br is still strong.
Many settings we cannot manually adjust, the huge dead zone fixed curve, which is bad in the case where the aid is weakened, H5 this mechanism is almost interesting but because of a strong aided aiming.
The problem with this game right now is that most of the weapons are difficult to control and a few of the three weapons are easy to control and can easily make a good shot so that I am no longer excited to make a good kill, and the problem that people complain about on mk is even more.

“Unstable Packet Loss” all the time, horrible experience.

Hello, just letting you know I’m on KBM in Australia and I cannot find a single solo/duo game in Ranked. If I manage to connect to one, it takes ten minutes and ends up being either 180 or 240 ping. This is genuinely unplayable.

Quick play and BTB have been fine, but they aren’t modes I want to play. I really hope this gets addressed or even acknowledged soon otherwise I’ll have to move on.

This makes perfect sense if you like definitions without context.

  1. The engineer seems knowledgeable. It seems like they and 343 have experienced staff - enough to ask them a simple question - is online latency a phenomenon that could have been expected? If so, was the severity of the problem researched, tested, improved, etc.? Or, are we playing the improved product?

  2. Physical separation distance between players in a multiplayer game is the fundamental reason for online latency issues. The only way to eliminate online latency is to exist in the same space at the same time with other players. My concern with the engineer’s post is context. For example, take the ‘being shot around corner’ or the ‘ghost melee’ issues, which occur in every Halo Infinite game I’ve played. This isn’t exclusive to Infinite as many other multiplayer titles have had similar issues. However, those games have resolved or minimized the effects of online latency, some without a six year development time. Halo 5 multiplayer was loved and hated - often for the identical reasons and at times for online latency. Halo 5 multiplayer may have had similar online latency issues but the frequency and severity at which they occurred was not unreasonable. Why do online latency issues in this context occur in Halo Infinite with such unreasonableness? If we neglect online latency issues then is there something else in the programming that causes such a pronounced effect?

  3. I’m concerned that the departure (forced or not) of Chris Lee was a source turmoil. Was there a contractual obligation that let Lee take some of the code/software he developed with him? Or, is the current version of the game we play an improved version from a worse version that initially catalyzed Lee’s departure?

Buddy, you’re the one with self-control issues. What is this, your fifth account?

Is this what Halo Infinite is going back to? Making your connection worse so the servers treat you better.

Ugh… Such a joke.

So throttling your connection is giving players an advantage…yet they call out geo filters as cheaters? I guess you’re the “bad actor” now so what are they going to prevent this form of “cheating” and “manipulation” now?

maybe it was just a coincidence… but the whole session felt pretty good. usually I stop updating games when i play but now…

just a little heads up: i went down from high D6 to low D4. ONLY because of the update. Really well done, 343:)

and no, i was not geofiltering. The desync just went ten times more bad.

There won’t be updates available all the time though so what’s the plan…download games in the background on your console or content on other devices?

Nah, by now I care way to less about this game. 343 screwed (u cant say the bad f word… and oh boy, beware if you miss spell it so it goes through their childish word filter. xD) it up, so no real need to put too much effort and time into it.

As soon as elden ring hits, infinite is gonna get uninstalled. Im not putting up with this nonsen, especially not with sich a bad developer who sees his customer as his first enemy AND the cow he has to milk as hard as he can.

Give the franchise to a team who is actual good at their job and maybe ill cone back.

Oh and im not talking about passion. Im talking about ACTUAL skills. The game just looped again in matchmaking because Istarted it from the scoreboard. A bug, easy to reproduce and yet it’s still in the game. Another pathetic example for there inability to create somethin fully working.
