I would be very surprised if we get more than one new map, and wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t get any
Campaign is dead once you’ve finished the main story, I appreciate multiplayer is where the updates are needed quickly but for those of us who are huge halo fans but not that into multiplayer Halo infinites Campaign is the worst so far for repkay value. I’d love to be able to replay missions like you can in every previous game or at least an update that allows you to reset enemy bases in the open world. Do we really have to wait until may for any replay value to be added when co-op supposedly arrives?
Just because you may not like Stockpile does not mean they should remove it. The biggest issue with Infinite multiplayer is the current lack of game mode variety in playlists. Instead of asking the devs to remove a game mode, we should be asking for more. Less is bad in this case, even if you don’t personally like Stockpile.
I’m just confused why they didn’t launch with a match composer for social. It was one of the best received features in MCC and would be excellent in Infinite.
Bascially it’s mostly the stuff that they previously had said they’d be working on (aside from the BTB stuff that got fasttracked due to the mode being completely inoperable and stuff that can be done on the server side alone (pricing changes, matchmaking adaptations):
- Fixes
- Anti-Cheat
- Additional Telemetry
What I don’t get is why we don’t get the full change log until Thursday. The build they’re going to release has been done and sent to the Xbox Store Team for certification - so there isn’t going to be anything added to it between now and release?
When it comes to content: I never saw them hyping up this update from a content perspective but perhaps someone can refer me to statements I have missed. The game definitely would benefit from additional content sooner rather than later. I get the feeling however that the closer we get to the end of season 1, the less likely it becomes that we’ll see it release before season 2 (if it’s just a few weeks, it’s better from a PR perspective to do one large drop, rather than a few drips before). Only thing I see happening outside events might be additional game modes.
Sketch with a 7 pretty much said all content would come in season 2 in that ramble of a speech he did after the death threats from Reddit back in December. He did also iterate that the Team would be silent until then too. Which they are being I suppose. Still though… mold is definitely stagnating.
There weren’t any death threats. Companies resort to this bs when they’re cornered. Not once do they ever show these “death threats.” They just want you to feel sorry for them. It’s called manipulation.
I wonder this too. It really seems like companies make this excuse any time they face criticism that they don’t want to respond to.
343 looks to be in full gaslighting mode.
“Everything is fine. We’re going to be better. Please understand how hard we’re working. The netcode is fine. We’re learning as we go. Keep the feedback coming. We’re listening to all of it. Everything is fine.”
This has been their company playbook for 10 years. It is identical to how they handled Halo 4 post-launch…
It’s eerily reminiscent of the behavior detailed in this thread 9 years ago… https://www.neogaf.com/threads/halo-4-one-year-later-what-happened.709697/
And thus began what was a critical mistake by 343: sticking to the script and not acting like they were bleeding out players… No, you’re not reading that wrong. It took 343 two months to actually deploy a weapon tune update from the moment it became possible, when the original point of the update was that they could make changes instantly. They would lose 20,000 people in this time period. What did they spend it doing? Hyping up a Community day where they flew out people from the community so they could ‘reveal’ the weapon tune update on a big, advertised stream. Even though the update was in gametypes and could be shared with the community immediately, we had to wait for MS’s marketing department to get their rocks off before we could feel like 343 was actually trying to salvage the sandbox. In a sensible world, the weapon updates would have been thrown in a beta playlist and updated weekly, with the community day just being a nice thing to celebrate the final version. 343 seemed to be intentionally ignoring their dire situation and did not act like they needed to address huge problems immediately.
North indicator on the radar on behemoth is still not right! The indicator doesn’t point in the direction of the north tower!
I should have probably used speech marks!
this is a great start now all we need in BTB is new maps game types (one bomb, neutral bomb,1 Flag Territories) BR starts or more BR spawns and a veto system would bring back some real nostalgia
You haven’t seen twitter or reddit, have you?
The gameplay is fast compared to classic halos. Just make 24m radar across all platforms. Better yet, run a flight to test it out.
I’d say this game is still in beta. In fact, this is like “early access” games on steam. At least those games are honest about what you’re paying for. (even tho most of us are playing this via Gamepass, maybe that’s the catch)
Bots kept me busy til campaign. Campaign came out I beat it. Haven’t really played since. I played Halo 3, odst, reach and even 4 for a good 10 months each til I slowed down and with the release of forbidden west today 343 and every other developer that’s released games this year and last should be absolutely embarrassed and ashamed of themselves
I think the motion tracker should be made uniform at 25 metres across the board, every mode.
Look, ive been playing halo since 2001 and i know how its supposed to work, infinite is the first one where the motion tracker appears to be completely useless. I cant think of a single time it conferred any advantage to me whatsoever, and i can think of many times i got dunked completely unawares and where i didnt even have time to notice a red dot before the guy was on me, let alone start turning to face the guy. I barely even looked at in in campaign, to be honest.
In the beta (“technical preview”) they had it so the dot only showed when you were sprinting, which was a very interesting innovation in de-fanging sprint. That combined with 25 metre range and PERHAPS either a slight sprint speed buff, or slight walk speed nerf, or perhaps even smaller amounts of both (the idea here is to move walk and sprint speed a little bit further apart than ~10% difference in order to justify not just walking everywhere for safety under this system) may have been an ideal solution to balancing out these various concerns. They went back on this though and appear to have just gone with making the motion tracker completely redundant in general.
Every game mode in Infinite just feels like SWAT now because no MT = no classic halo tactical pre-engagement dance/grenade setup etc. Its a shame.
Haha, very funny, now where’s the real update?
What is there left to say?
People who were patiently waiting for casual modes have completely dropped this game. People who are clearly not competitive players aren’t just casualties of incompetent management at this point they are being deliberately snubbed.
The worst part about this is it’s all INCONSEQUENTIAL if you just listen, please, just listen.
We need infection, we need a roadmap, do NOT monetize forge in any way, and stop deflecting concerns.
If data miners are having more fun than your player base you should take that as a red flag, so much amazing work went into this game and you’re bringing the entire franchise down with this current tempo.
I believe serious changes not only must be made, but that there needs to be a re-committment the soul of Halo in general. Geared towards friends playing on a couch enjoying customs and big team, not sweaty HCS kids that drop the game after one year and get our vehicles turned into literal paper airplanes even though they never touch BTB.
FFA, non ranked BR start playlist for warm ups, should be immediately jumped to the top of any list you have.
Then anti cheat.
Then just focus on forge and RELEASE IT ASAP especially if it’s done before release.
Thanks to those at 343 who genuinely are working their butts off, to the people above them READ THESE POSTS.
Not hopeful for people in Australia who want to play Ranked. If it’s the same 180 or 240 ping games, then you can forget it. You’ve literally screwed over a whole region and haven’t acknowledged it.
What a crap update. No actual content. BTB radar increase? Really? Shouldn’t that have been a quick fix shortly after launch anyway? Cant believe this is one of the highlighted updates in this… disappointing mid season update.
