Halo Infinite Update - May 13

I’m not applauding you for reversing stuff nobody wanted in the first place and fixing bugs that you introduced.

can we have an option to disable hit markers?

Also, I’m still getting latency and jitter issues. Why can’t you fix that 343?

Thanks for keeping us updated. For the next update, please see my last few posts on suggested BTB improvements - specifically matchmaking, weapons, AI Bots, calming down the blinding scope glint, etc. Thank you.

Please separate CTF, Strongholds and Oddball from quickplay. Either group them in a category (koth and SH as territories and CTF and OB objective) or remove the challeges that requiere a low probability game mode please

Thanks, but Halo Infinite multiplayer still desperately needs more MAPS. Why can’t you organise your pipelines to release, and cycle in/out new maps every month? Also, why so few sentinels in the campaign? Compared to prior Halo games, and given the vastness of the open world, there should’ve been 10x more.

Keep the bazaar overshield as it is. It’s better if it doesn’t spawn right away for ctf.

I’m burnt out from the S1 grind to get everything unlocked. I am honestly not impressed by this season’s Lone Wolf Theme and Last Spartan Standing. The fact I can’t squad up with friends, and have to play the event solo is making me skip this season entirely. Not to mention the continuing lack of classic Halo game modes, customization options, mediocre skin purchases, maps, Forge, Campaign Co-op are also contributing to my descision to uninstall the game to play something else. I’m sorry 343 but as a long time Halo fan, I have to be honest.

Very cool. Love to see community comradery bring positive changes. I’d love to see so many more people playing.

It would also be very handy to see a total player count on Xbox so we know when the best times to get on for a game are. I would rather play at a peak time to get good games than play at an off-peak time, wait around 5 minutes to get a game and even then be thrown in to a 130 ping server.

Sweet, thanks for the update

Any luck that the graphics will be “rolled back” to Season1 level of quality?

Thanks for the update guys, but could you also consider checking out the despawn glitch of banshees and phantoms in the campaign? Whenever I try to escape from them or if I stay at a considerable distance they just disappear instantly instead of flying away to other parts of the map. Also I’ve experienced some popping at the horizon when I travel with any vehicle (specially wasp and banshees), I completed the game several months ago but when I go back to it I still find these bugs/glitches. Also I play the 60fps mode on Series X btw.

I think Last Spartan Standing is pretty cool but a bit wonky in balance, here are my suggestions for getting Last Spartan Standing a bit more interesting and balanced:

  • Firstly, here’s how I suggest we amend the “afk winner” issue. Similar to weapon catch up timers in MCC Elevation Slayer, I’d suggest doing timed eliminations for the lowest scoring player. This would help game pace and incentivize campers to seek performance score and XP drops from downed enemies

  • Two, a suggestion I saw a user post on Twitter (I’d reference them if I could remember their @) perhaps in a similar manner to King of the Hill’s moving “Hill”, the Danger Zone should converge on different points every round. This would squash a lot of cheap strats.

  • Next I’d suggest reducing the item drops significantly, remove stacking, and perhaps drop the overshield entirely. Invisible ninja can be fun, if its even possible to reverse their attack on them (overshield ninjas everywhere). I suggest grapplehook as a replacement but YMMV

  • As a fourth note I think the weapon escalation is a little wonky. Disruptor should be the first drop, after you get a mangler there’s no need to “pepper shields”, the sidekick would be a better suppressing weapon to compliment the mangler’s slower fire-rate. Additionally, I think I would drop the MA40 entirely from the lineup, a mangler/commando setup would be better as thats going to be a majority of players most of the match. Right now for most of the game players are stuck with a mid range and slightly longer range assault rifle. A mangler/commando combo gives your majority of players better tools and a better variety of them. To optionally compensate the new hole in the lineup I don’t have a great solution, perhaps a Heatwave or Sentinel beam at the end to give some more disruptive close range to top tier players

  • Finally, and probably the most antithetical suggestion for the mode, perhaps make “being last man” more of a Golden Snitch. Make it a huge point buff, but perhaps still reward the more skilled players and really get people hunting down those high kill ones. That or drop lives? Drop lives has two meanings here, I say either drop the system entirely, or reward skilled play, i.e. killing sprees or certain other medals, with additional lives. This would ease the pain somewhat of the top end player of the board being up against Mr. Four Lives and Low Kills

And that’s all I got. Probably -Yoink!- in the wind but I think the mode is a cool idea, it just needs a lot of work, and I think a constructive approach is best in this regard.

Like don’t get me wrong, I appreciate it when feedback was heard… but who was responsible for this mistake in the first place?

Considering the massive MASSIVE laundry list of things that have been promised (from performance-based progression to co-op, forge, assassinations, and 3 month seasons,) I just can’t fathom why these kinds of changes (removing skill jumps etc,) were prioritized. How much dev time was wasted both removing these things and now adding them back in? Meanwhile, the campaign sits by, neglected since launch, missing 2/3s of its content?

PC fullscreen when? dasdas

It seems you are trying to make what is a great game terrible. Fix these please:

  • Getting shot around corners (still); this was not a real problem in H2-5, but now it’s a problem in Infinite
  • The ridiculous wolf howls
  • You load in 3 people in arena games then ban them when they quit a game they can’t win (nice)
  • When you lag people out of an arena game, please try to get them back in. This is a solved problem (see Destiny 2)
  • The ridiculous Yoroi armor - with the rope belt . . . so my armor pants don’t fall down?
  • The cat ears
  • The ridiculous grunt/jackal chatter in campaign . . . you JarJar Binks’d the campaign. It’s not to be taken seriously
  • And just to hash this again, how do you keep managing to break multiplayer matchmaking in each and every release, just to “solve” the problem (again) . MCC - broken (then solved), H4 - broken (again), then solved, H5 - broken (again), then solved, Infinite - broken (again) . . . . (not solved). This makes no sense.

With all this, how can you be surprised that people have stopped playing? The communication is really poor, as is the player experience.

I’m still having the speed line bug on Xbox one. No matter whether the box is checked or not in the video settings, there are always speed lines.

When are the update dropping? We would pretty much appreciate a date instead of “future update”…
