Just go play another game and meme this one every now. I’ve been doing it and I feel much better now.
*every now and then
there’s no edit option
Welcome to the club. I never even HAD an edit option. 343 says I might get one by season 3 if I buy 10 items or more at the shop.
Wow. This game was clearly not ready for release. Even with a 1-year delay!
It’s so weird and disappointing that you can’t fix anything in any reasonable time frame. Wait for season 2, wait for season 2, wait for season 2. Season 2 is gonna have a lot to live up to, man. And it will not deliver everything, I’m sure.
You made this “new” engine to be flexible and to work with the new service angle of your game, but it doesn’t seem to be able to do anything at all without it taking several months?
I love the game play, I think you nailed alot of the most difficult parts of getting Infinite right, but all these weird issues surrounding it, that any Halo fan should be able to see from a mile away. That people have been saying since the technical tests.
Who made all these decisions behind the scenes? Someone at 343, or higher up at Microsoft? I’m not blaming the developers, you guys were probably saying the same stuff we are, but someone with all the power clearly wanted to rip people off with the store and customization. And didn’t think it was important to have any content in the game. After Halo 5 launched with that same issue, which people were so disappointed by.
It’s so sad. When you actually manage to fix this game, if it happens at all, it might be too late. Most people will have moved on. You get one chance to make a first impression, and you fell flat on your faces, and everyone saw that you were just trying to rip people off for quick cash grabs.
I haven’t bought anything in the store except for the disappointing battle pass, and I’m not going to until you make some actual real changes that feels like you care about the players. I hope no one pays for anything until we see some real changes. I’d be happy to give you money if it was reasonably and fairly priced, the game offered us value and respected our time.
Nice long post with nothing of substance, just wait for the next “update”. They want us to wait until season 2… seriously
Every time I read one of their updates or look at the store I hear the chorus of black flag’s “gimme gimme gimme.” I cant believe they took an extra year and still only delivered this half baked broken af system that has even monetized base gd colors. The campaign was a lot of fun, even if the world feels pretty empty. The multiplayer has mostly been fun as well, except for things like: serious lack of maps\modes; the rampant over-monetization of EVERYTHING, most shockingly possibly being basic af customization options that are traditionally offered for free either as a base option or via in-game unlock for more special colors\pieces. Cross-core customization being disabled, both with armor pieces and “coatings”, is a smack in the face as well. This system was designed to make as much money as it possibly could for the least amount of content ($7 helmet? $2 for three different but basic af ai recolors? $10 cat ears? $20 bundles?!?). I wont spend a dime in the store unless the prices drop drastically; 343 is testing the market to see how much they can get away with charging. I’d implore all of you to boycott the shop until drastic changes are made. I saw they said they wanted to bring everything from the MCC into infinite eventually; but this time they want to sell it to us, whereas last time we could earn it…which is how it should be! Just a shockingly brazen level of corporate greed on display here. Very, very disappointing that pre-launch leak about halo infinite’s armor lockers not having armor in them was accurate.
Or crossplay toggle.
How is this a game “live service”, if it take 3 months to move several pixels? Only one actually new game mode has been introduced and the only thing that is updated frequently and without any bug/s is the dang store.
Yet they making huge mtx profit why so many games release in pre alpha stage everything makes profit so why make finished great games…
That is when they release red variant mtx in season 2 lol
They took a extra year i bet to rip mp out then rip most stuff to add as mtx they knew this be in trouble f2p model was only option to milk modern mtx addicts. No anti cheat on f2p model they knew this was doomed but knew ip hype can bank them huge mtx f2p mula. I have fun 1-3 matches with my body but the desyncs and cheaters make us play 95% less. The 2 shot for 1 shot exploit is so common people swat ttk you and entire team. Just sad and 1 streamer for weeks streaming him using hacks live and laughing about it. I miss the old bungie team f new team they got…
I see a lot of complaining in this thread, which really doesn’t change anything, I guess people just need to vent because of their expectations…
For me BTB currently is working ok 2 out of 3 times, only occasionally (about 1 in 10-20 games) there happens to be a game of 2 vs 4 players. Still, I’m looking forward to the fix. Seeing that it is a complex issue, I’m ok with it taking time, as long as I see someone is working on it. I’m not sure - maybe a placebo effect - but I think the last fix made it a bit better with the game connecting more often than before.
Still, you probably should turn off auto-banning for ‘leaving’ BTB until it’s fixed - we’re getting banned from the game for trying to join and the server disconnecting on us. Also, challenges that require BTB or weapons mainly found in BTB should be removed from the roster for the time being.
I recognize it’d require taking apart and reassembling the whole shop to implement this kind of changes we’d want, but I really hope you can get it right for S2. As I proposed in one of the threads, I think it’d be nice if the shop would stay like it was - with occasional discounted bundles of items, while every single item should be available to buy from customization screen - unless it is some kind of limited or seasonal item (or otherwise tied to an achievement).
On that note - we could use some cool items tied to achievements so we can tell at a glance that someone put in the time to achieve something.
Also if changing the store is a big hassle, you could reuse the layout you already have for HCS bundles for the rest of the shop - it fits many more items than your basic shop layout.
I for one bow to our cat overlords.
Despite many ‘hardcore’ fans hating on those, I like them, and hope for more - clawed gloves? a tail attachment? I also think some people should get off their high horse and have fun.
Also, where are the ears for mark V? I hope you’ll make the ears available cross-core. How can I make more people angry if I can’t -Yoink!- them in cat-eared mkV?
I still think you should enable vehicles in ranked. Then the Behemoth would probably have more sense. Same as Launchpad.
But I won’t cry as long as they’re left alone in casual modes - I love those maps in casual slayer and fiesta.
I guess the issue runs deeper than just simple moving of attachment points or it’d be fixed instantly… Also, on my computer I didn’t notice any issues, so I guess it depends on computer/console in use, which points at probably some deeper problem, not just simple misalignment.
Keep up the good work thus far. Anyone who had anything to do with programming knows that sometimes bug-hunting isn’t as simple as it might seem from the outside.
I hope that you also have the desync and cheating issues high on your to-do list as those are a thing that worries most people - melee not registering, getting 1-hit kills from the front or backsmacks because someone moved right through you sucks. But I’m pretty sure it also requires some time to fix, so one thing at a time…
How about fixing stuff like all the animations that don’t scale to whatever high framerate the game is running at. Where every time you reload the Skewer, the animation gives a sensation of choppiness even though a framerate drop is not occurring.
Or is this something that can never be fixed, has to be ignored, because it got outsourced, many years ago, to contractors who spoke another language?
No it was not. If you went into a store and bought a new or used copy of Halo 3 in 2009, you got only the base game. The Heroic Map Pack and Cold Storage were the only free DLC you could download and that of course requires Xbox Live. The Legendary, Mythic, and Mythic II packs still cost 800 Microsoft points unless you were playing on the included Halo 3 Mythic disc. ODSTs campaign is on par in length to Halo 3 with the same amount of campaign missions as well as including Halo’s newest game type: Firefight. It started out as just campaign DLC, but Microsoft wanted 5 total Halos out of Bungie so the story was expanded, firefight introduced, Halo Reach beta access, and the definitive Halo 3 multiplayer experience was bundled in, all for $60. What has Infinite to offer us when you pay the same price tag? Just an access key to the campaign.
Season 2 better blow everyone’s socks off, if it doesn’t I’m done with this game
I already bought all the Halo 3 map packs obviously, and ODST had a far shorter campaign. Halo 3 takes a solid 13 hours from a dedicated veteran, ODST takes 6 max if you are being generous. I like ODST for what it is, but the price was am absolute ripoff if you already owned Halo 3. Thankfully I was able to sell my Mythic disc for $33.
Idk where your getting the 13 hours from. Halo 3 and ODST are more like standard video game campaign lengths of 8-10 hours casual play; just under Combat Evolved’s length and definitely not as long as Halo 2. The Ark and The covenant may be some of the longer levels in the franchise but Halo 3 was beat before Christmas Day was even over and 10 year old me wasn’t blitzing though the campaign. Basically the same for ODST except split into two sessions because that Tuesday was a school night.
You big trippin dog. There was also beautiful ambience in ODST and you got to do some cool exploring and have a fun secondary story within the game. It was worth it to me. Especially since I hadn’t bought the map packs at that time.
I never said it wasn’t fun, but it was advertised as DLC, and the price just is not justified for me. If tyou never touched Halo 3 before, then ya it would be. Should have just had the choice between that stuff and JUST campaign for maybe $30.
Firefight was cool, but useless without matchmaking sadly.
i would love for there to be an option for 5v5 or 6v6. i was playing with 5 friends, we did BTB, only desynced once, but why not allow FFA slayer if u got a bunch of friends together?? loving the game, waiting for more variety. lastly, im at 96, my friend is at 100, why cant the extra xp be stored for the next season or lets u choose a core that u can work towards and makes it like 5000xp? my friend is playing less and less because he feels like there no reason to progress since hes at 100 already.
