Halo infinite technology referance

I think that it would be pretty neat if Halo Infinite had references to old Halo technology. Like if the Halo 3 flamethrower was in there or if there was brute technology or the weapons and vehicles just found throughout the game. What does the community think?

P.s does anyone else think this will be an open world game or is that just me.

Considering the Banished have pillaged, and modded old Covenant tech, its doubtful we will see old weapons and such. And we shouldn’t.

Time moves on, weapons and armor progress. And that’s the way it should be. If fans say things like you can’t deny the passage of time…or characters are getting old, they need to retire, go away, or die. Then tech does too. No double standards.

DISCLAIMER: I am for characters, tech, armor staying the same with very slight differences

I don’t me it comes back and replaces everything I mean if there were references to it like if you’d just find a chopper around the map once a blue moon or something like that just as a reference to Halo 3

I’m surprised we didn’t see more old halo tech. Since Humanity and the Covenant we’re still in the rebuilding phase, though it seemed Earth/Mars recovered faster the bulk of material being made would be civilian structures and tools to rebuild worlds. It would take a lot of time, money, and resources away from the rebuild effort. Often old tech is used since its cheaper and still effective. Like Boeing CH-47 Chinook. Though in times of need older equipment that has been mothballed can come back like the Gustav rocket launcher and M-60 tank. Often old military equipment is still used even when its slowly getting phased out, kept in moth balls for emergency reuse, and or still being used at unimportant outposts since its cheaper but still effective. Plus old equipment is cheaper on parts replacement since their is an abundance of parts.

I just assumed that time constraints and cost to make addition models made it one of the first things cut. Which story wise you can get way with UNSC wise since your doing missions from the Infinity which had all the latest designs stocked on board since it was a last ditch effort warship being constructed toward the end of the covenant war. The only thing that doesn’t make since is for Forward onto Dawn, the Halo 4 intro flashback scenes, Argent Moon, and most of Jul’s forces to have newer weapons and equipment.
But budget and time constraints often ruin things.

All depends if we will see brutes again wither their Banished or some other brute groups. Maybe that ring has a crashed covenant/brute ship with weapons all over the place. I think the lore states that the elites (Arbiters elites) glassed flood sections of the ring so maybe they were chasing brutes that found Zeta Halo. I think 343 will reference brutes again. 343 has already had brute weapons on Didact’s ship and Cortana name dropped them.

I also think Halo Infinite will be open world or at least A30 Halo/Mombasa streets level structure but bigger maps.

Thank you for your in depth thoughts. If the old tech isn’t in the hopefully open world campaign maybe it can be like the halo 2 battle rifle or CE Pistol like halo 5 incorporated it just maybe do it in a different manner.

I don’t think so at least not multilayer 100%. For campaign I don’t think so but I could see the campaign having open world elements do it like in CE where you were in the warthog driving around the ring saving the marines

Well with a bunch of teeth pulling they brought the SPNKr and M319 back into 5. So maybe we’ll see some older stuff from the start.
It would depend on how badly the UNSC got mauled by the Created’s uprising. From what I’ve heard? Its bad.

I’d definitely want some Brute form to be in the game. Btw OP (THEBADDUDE24), there’s a spelling mistake in the title

I already thought there was a huge theory on this regarding what we saw in the E3 demo. Don’t they have an original BR in their hands? As well as original armor? A lot of people are speculating that this means that somehow Cortana has control of new UNSC tech and that they have to resort to older equipment where she doesn’t have an upper edge with. I could be completely wrong, or not in the new loop of things since I’ve been working to much lately, but I’m pretty sure that was a huge topic floating around.

The Warthog and Battle Rifle all come from Halo 4/5 eras in the tech demo. Marine (Army?) armor looked out of Reach. Chief’s armor was more Halo 2/3. Low on supplies, the Infinity or whoever could raid old storehouses or abandoned facilities to get the “old” gear I suppose.

It would be cool to see a mix of old and new. Now that Cortana rules the galaxy, it would be awesome to see the UNSC and the Swords of Sanghelios using old/new tech sense they’re on the run from Cortana and probably can’t get new supplies.
