Halo Infinite Tech Preview - Feedback

Overall, my Flight Test experience during this weekend felt pretty amazing. All the weapons do a fair damage and there is no need to change any properties, spartan shields are fair as well, the enemy bots are an excellent addition for matchmaking and for newcomers this is a perfect way to start multiplayer in the series.

However, I feel some aspects need to be revised:
G A M E P L A Y

  • The sights/scopes of the power weapons need to be tweak a little; there is a lot of distortion, specially with the Sniper Rifle, when the enemy shoots at you and you are zooming in the weapon. Also, the zoom in the Sniper Rifle need to be lowered a little bit.
  • The Deployable Shield needs to be activated quickly; I feel that it takes a lot of time to activate when you put the shield on the ground, it leaves the player helpless on the battlefield.
  • The Covenant Carabine feels weird and I don’t know how to feel about it completely, I like that it lowers the shield quickly like the majority of the Covenant weapons from previous entries.
    P R O G R E S S I O N
  • The progression system needs to change; the only way for now to progress the Battle Pass is to complete challenges, it feels pointless to keep playing matchmaking after completing the daily challenges.
    T E C H N I C A L
  • During my experience, I encounter some audio problems, during certain matches the environmental and weapon sounds would randomly turn off.
  • Frame rate for Xbox One and Xbox One S sometimes drops when sprinting.
  • I manage to duplicate a Gravity Hammer by staying with another Spartan holding “X” just before the weapon appeared.
  • The weapons dropped on the floor disappear quickly.
  • For base Xbox One consoles, the background takes time to load, and also I encounter some crashes during menu and matchmaking.
  • Female Spartans were not in this flight but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I agree with most of the things mentioned here. Nice observations. Also if there are female spartans make them look -Yoink!- but robust, to identifier them better from the male ones.

I second the notion for -Yoink!- spartan women.

Option for female body types to be more/less feminine!

Overall xp was good. It felt fresh BUT:

  • PLEASE bring back the old shotgun amd pistol from halo CE. For a few reasons I want a magnum to FEEL like a magnum. Control of pistol seems to make me over correct.

  • increase vibration for different guns may guns feel week. Some devs under utilize this. Please make adjustments for a more immersive xp.

  • radar isn’t right I found myself getting overwhelmed because people walking didn’t show up on radar. Make the radar a bit bigger. It looks a bit small to me…if it’s not broke don’t fix it

DITCH sprint and just increase movement speed to the speed of sprint. One tester noted its only an increase of 3% between “walking” and “sprint”

The color scheme for the Armour, I am not impressed by this. Everything else looks really good.

Why would they need to remove sprint? The Sprint in this is actually very nice, and a good improvement to the sprint in Halo 5. Also the Slide I wasn’t using that much, mainly because it doesn’t help in the gameplay, but is a cool feature.

also. The pistol is very nice, and so is the Bulldog. I do not think they need to take them out, or add anymore weapons.
343i is making their game, not a game for us. They are listening to the community, but they don’t have to do exactly what we want. I have faith in this game and overall think that they do not need to change anything, other than the fact that the drop wall takes 10000000 years to deploy. Make us shorter 343… plz

-You cant tell if a player has broken shields, theres not much shield flare on hits and no sparks on full drain
-add a visible shield recharge delay timer like in Halo5
-The enemy outlines make it feel more like ghost recon than Halo. maybe highlight allies and not enemies.

  • slide cancel
    -sound glitch, sometimes all sound would drop to ~15% except voices, so I played entire matches where I pretty much just heard spartan callouts n medals n -Yoink-
    -The BR burst is too slow, too much kick.
    -AR is too good, shouldnt kill like it does from range, shouldnt be meta. increase bloom in a logarithmic curve rather than S. (Log curve - Lot’s of bloom right away and then slow growth at mid to high bloom
    -Pistol sucks and bloom makes it even less capable. increase mag size or slower rate of fire, but harder hitting with less bloom.
    -Drop wall is garbage, takes too long to fully deploy and then is weak af, each panel takes 2 AR bullets to break - bubble shield is a better fit for the Halo dance imo.
  • some guns don’t descope when you take damage
    -Increase controller sensitivity range, and max sense. on its scale to 10 increase the max up to like 20. make it ridiculous if you have to but dont make it limiting
    -ADS specific acceleration
    -menu options - full description of what the setting changes on hover
    -controller layout selection - show button mapping preview on hover

-settings screen independent of load/lobby for continuity of adjustment
-free camera traversal on death, no more wz fixed angle bs, I want to look around
-perfects, assists, and headshots in post game summary/scoreboard customization UI rb/lb to switch armor types when looking at pieces of a specific type
-prosthesis preview on hover
-allow customization in lobby
-customization - # of unlocked pieces for each armor piece type (#/#)
-postgame in-depth scoreboard, it looks wonky on screen by only partially covering general scoreboard

-this might be a me thing but… I use an Elite 2, I had many times where aim sense was inconsistent, forcing me to constantly turn left or right, going fast in one direction and slow in the other, sometimes had a complete loss of control and It would look around with a mind of its own. Halo is about consistency, this break from consistency soiled the rest as I didnt have trust in my controls acting as I expect them to. Quickly took the fun out the game

halo infinite fue increíble ya que las armas como dijieron los de 343 industries juegan un papel muy diferente dependiendo del arma el sniper se me hizo muy bueno y la potencia del arma se siente en el momento en el que presionas el gatillo una experiencia que solo vives en halo infinite así como la sidekick creo asi se llama la nueva magnum pero esa arma es la única que puede disparar a una velocidad descumunal sin contar de que los golpes los da bastante rapidos eso fue lo que se me hizo bastante bueno que cuando dijieron qie las armas seran diferentes lo cumplieron los mapas se hicieron muy grandes al principio pero en cuanto mas juge que demas de acuerdo de que eran perfectos para el 4 vs 4 muy bien detallados tanto como ciertas áreas de firelive y como los animales del mapa bazar
en tanto habilidades spartans como el gancho el sobrescudo y el camuflaje increíbles sin duda alguna pero el escudo se me hizo feo ya que es muy lento en activarse y tardas mas en poner otro y la durabilidad del escudo no es muy buena qué digamos en cuanto los bots fue realmente unico ya qué jamás creí que una inteligencia artificial pudiera ser tanto la forma en la que esquivaban y se agachan pará salir de tu Mira o como cuando se coordinan paea acabar contigo o para tomar el control de las armas poderosas del mapa es increíble siendo sincero se me hicieron mas buenos los bots que los mismos jugadores pero la dificultad se me hizo muy fácil en especial la spartan yo lo esperaba mas difícil y la personalizacion se me hizo muy buena y a como veo las cosas parece que va ser muy amplio y eso me gusta espero que halla muchos cosmeticos de exclusividad se que estuvieron ausentes los asesinatos durante la preview pero no pierdo la esperanza de que los tendremos en un futuro no muy lejano en cuanto la comunicación entre spartans y el locutor y las IA es increíble ya que le otorga un buen desempeño a las partidas y los gritos de los spartans al morir hace el juego mas realista y eso me encanta en fin de cuentas a la preview le doy un 9/10
