Yea it takes place after 5
The E3 trailer definitely takes place a lot longer than right after Halo 5.
For those interested:
- Halo 5 concluded around late October, 2558 - The crashed Pelican in the Halo Infinite E3 2018 teaser showed a date that was in late May of 2560 - Master Chief’s VISR boot-up display showed that his armor was issued in early February of 2559, and was updated by Halsey in mid September of 2561So given the Pelican pilot was trapped in there long enough to grow out his hair, that’s probably an additional two months from whenever the battle concluded. Given the dates of the Chief’s armor, the battle must have started after early 2559, and occurred around mid 2560 at the Halo Ring if the E3 2018 date was accurate. There must have been enough downtime to update his armor from a safe location by Halsey, so whatever conflict was going on had to carry through late 2561, unless he was updated very last minute. Given all of this, I’d guess Infinite takes place around mid 2562.
