Halo infinite story

Anyone else generally disappointed with the lack of character arch’s and emotional weight, even in halo 5 at least the story was significant, I don’t feel like chief accomplished much at all in this instalment, that and the lack of flood, Prometheans or just anything from og halo lore makes it feel like a punch in the face.:exploding_head::man_facepalming:

It doesn’t sound like you played infinite.

I’m about at the end I assuming I haven’t looked up anything so this is all from my point of view, they only mention the flood like twice early in the campaign,

and if I’m not mistaken infinite takes place on instillation 07 (zeta halo) which is steeped in endless dark lore about the flood and the ancient humans, mendicant bias, or the forerunners non of which I have seen thus far,

the open world is quite barren and by that I mean secrets, I have scoured the lands looking for terminals audio logs and just lore in general, sure there is lots of audio logs but non of these have any og lore, which to a long time halo fan like me kinda sucks,

The story just feels lacklustre, halo 1 through 3 was about saving the universe from the flood, (epic)

Halo reach was about putting up a valiant last stand against the covenant,(sick)

Halo 4 was about stopping the prometheans from composing earth(cool af)
Halo 5 is about Locke hunting chief, and chief trying to
save Cortana (not all bad)

And halo infinite is about stopping the banished and “the endless” whatever that is

I just feel less significance going about the missions in infinite than I did in say 5 or 2
