Halo Infinite (still) Has An Aiming Problem

I’ve played Halo since CE, and I just have to be blunt here: Halo Infinite has a massive aiming problem. Even after all the feedback about it from the tech test, I think it somehow got even worse.

I’m not even sure what to say at this point tbh. It’s frustrating. The game has turned into an absolute sweat-fest full of crouch strafers that just spam AR. It’s totally unenjoyable to play. Even in games when I play well I don’t have fun because I’m constantly fighting against the bad aiming system. I spend more time fighting my aim than I do fighting opposing players. A fundamental component of Halo has always been an intuitive and easy to pick up (but hard to master) aiming system. And this isn’t it.

I won’t go into the details about my feedback on the aiming system again. I already did an EXTENSIVE post about this during the tech test. And there was literally hundreds of people that supported it. But it’s obvious now that the feedback went unheard. And that the esport echo chambers that 343i has locked themselves into are in full control of all the gameplay mechanics now, including the aiming.

I’m going back to MCC. I’m not having fun playing Infinite, and neither are any of my friends. It’s a huge shame, and I’m honestly super disappointed. I thought this was going to be the Halo game I’ve always wanted. But instead, it’s the most frustrating one of the entire franchise because something as fundamental as the aiming is so completely broken. I hope they finally listen and take MAJOR actions to remedy the issues. But I’m not hopeful after the complete lack of progress on that front from the tech test to now.

I’d also say that it’s a problem with balancing. As everything has almost the same kill time and the AR as a spawn weapon is pretty much a very strong allrounder that will even throw other precision weapons out of scope at longer ranges.

I do know there is a glitch where if you pick up any objective like a oddball or flag etc. you lose aim assist all together. The issues can last multiple games.

I agree, that’s also a huge problem. I remarked to my friend tonight that it feels like a Call of Duty game now. Every weapon is essentially the same, just slightly different flavors. And with the AR being so OP, I don’t ever see a reason to pick up another weapon unless it’s for a very specific use case that requires some weirdly specific weapon function.

Yes the aiming is still bugged. If it works it’s cool, but it is inconsistent.

What happend to the guy in the video, happens also to me and many others from time to time

I hope 343i fix that problem asap.

this is exactly what happens :sob: :sob: :sob:

I’m having crazy difficulties killing with the commando… it jumps everywhere, even in ads… and it has also been nerfed…

There are still aiming problems unfortunately… very very sad about this situation…

For controller, I maxed out acceleration, lowered sensitivity to 2, lowered Max threshold for looking to 0, and turned down deadzones as much as it felt good. This made a big difference on my aiming control.

Although, it still was not perfect cause I think aim-assist is sometimes weird or lacking.

A little surprised your post is one of the first here but most people over Twitter kind of figured it out in some different remedies.

For me on PC every now and then it butters my sensitivity and becomes 10-10, 0 dead zones out of nowhere. Like I set it to 1-1-1 and it felt like 10-10-5 I’ve ordered a new controller already so that’s that.

I’ve tried all the recommendations for the settings and I haven’t gotten anything close to usable. I’ve just given up at this point. To me, it’s clearly a fundamental problem that no manner of aim setting tweaks can fix.
