Halo Infinite Skins are just BLAND

Every time I go to the store to check skins they all look boring and bland. I really like the idea of customizing my Spartan, but the options are so limited and unimaginative. I feel like 343 has missed the mark big time. Am I the only one that would like to see a little creative license here? Maybe add emotes? You can unlock a canteen skin, very boring. But if my Spartan could take a swig…?

Yeah this should all be a no no for Halo. Halo has historically had a more serious tone and even the items that were wacky had a “cooler” tone rather than “cute” or super goofy feel like we see now.

Halo Infinite has been tainting that tone for lack of a better word and many of us who have been aroind for a long time do not want to see the franchise we fell in love with turn into some game like Fortnite where it has a ton of goofy skins and emotes.

ive said this from the start they have 0 quality control quantity over quality.

Feel like Halo was always going to struggle in the unique armour department due to them wanting to keep the artistic integrity.

Even with the armour cores everything still looks quite similar in my mind.

Other games make most their money off of collabs and the more outrageous skins which Halo has for the most part avoided so far. I’m talking like a sparkling glitterbomb skin. We have the nail polish one but that is quite subtle.

artistic? given how ugly/low quality some of them are I dont think they were going for super artistic lol

Would you say you’re a big fan of the Halo Universe? I.e. do you like the established aesthetics in it?

This post gives a vibe like that isn’t really what you’re into, in which case, to each their own, but lets keep halo looking like halo, many people love the games for that aesthetic.

I’ve been around Since the Genesis of Halo and your point, and those that would concur, is well taken. Historically speaking 343 has remained true to the Aesthetic of the Halo Universe. Maybe I’m just bored with it over 20 years. How else do I make my Spartan unique if everything basically looks drab and similar? I’m over wanting to be Master Chief, but I wouldn’t mind being a character that’s more goofy and outside the norms of the Halo Universe. Pathfinder from Apex Legends is a good example. Maybe that’s just me though…

So as far as goofy goes i am fine with it as long as it keeps the Halo aesthetic. Hayabusa and Yorio are great armor sets i would day fit the Halo aesthetic while being goofy in a sense. Outside of Helioskrill from H5 i can’t really remember anything from H4 or H5 that i thought fit. Those games just did not keep the Halo Art Style and just went their own way

Cat ears and the Eagle Strike armor core on the other hand feel childishly “cute” and looks like a set of Fallout Power armor respectively. I would say those don’t fit.

I don’t see why they forced colors on these coatings in the first place. I think they should have instead planned the designs in a way where players could have added a primary and secondary color and then maybe even a decal layer to each armor coating(like for stickers or in-universe ‘sponsors’, or dirt/grime or a ‘battle worn’ look). But then we’d have an issue with a limit of colors and designs… because we all know practically every “cool looking” color/design would be locked inside of bundles or something like that to force you to spend more than you actually want too.
