Halo Infinite Skill Tree

I was thinking the other day, what if Infinite had a skill tree? Before people get riled up in the comments, this would be SINGLE PLAYER ONLY. Basically, my idea was that they could implement every armor ability into the game, unlock through a skill tree, and make it similar to the Star Card system in Star Wars Battlefront 2, where you select a singular ability. That could implement stuff like Thrusters, Armor Lock, Jetpack, and other things that some people would play with or without.

In the gameplay demo there is actually a “upgrades” menu. What’s in there exactly we do not know.

Personally I don’t think we need to see everything come back into the game. Jetpacks, armour lock etc. Unless it has a place in the sandbox there isn’t a need to throw it in for the sake of it. With that being said armour abilities are being replaced with equipment pieces in the game

I think the upgrades we get shouldn’t be anything super crazy. A few abilities to carry more ammo, damage resistance etc.

I’d prefer they do something more along the lines of an armory. If you bring a weapon or equipment to a section of the map, like your pelican, you can add it to your armory, and then once something is in your armory you can select it at the start of missions, and use resources to upgrade it.

For instance, with no upgrades you only get 1 use outof your loadout’s equipment, but with upgrades you can get multiple or unlimited uses and speed up the time it takes to cool down.

Weapon upgrades can include things like increased ammo capacity, and a bonus effect applied to your loadout ammo at the start of the mission (incendiary rounds for example)

Ah, these are great ideas.

I don’t like this. This kind of thing gives me a headache. The setting of RPG game will lead to distortion. I think we can refer to Dayz’s backpack and item system, which is very realistic and practical

I would love to see some RPG elements like this! Skill tree and armory really.

In some ways, it makes very little sense for Master Chief, as like a 40 something year old Spartan, to gain skills. So I think it makes more sense to be an armory/armor upgrade thing. Would really love to see fully customizable armor (i.e. chief’s armor is canon but you can change it for your campaign, like mass effects character design, or halo reach.) Would particularly like to see features where through upgrades to your armor you either get stronger shields or health, bigger/better movement, or thrusters etc, maybe more ammo storage…

Ah awesome! I must have missed that piece of news.

That’s actually pretty cool then. Sounds like equipment could play a pretty big role in the combat loop.

Equipment upgrades are one thing I can handle. Anything else and it’s crossing lines I don’t think a main line Halo game should cross.
