Halo: Infinite should keep new movement mechanics

Hear me out: I think it would be better if Halo: Infinite kept the new (Halo 5) movement mechanics. It delivers on the freedom of movement better that the classic Halo(s) does, leaving you feeling like an actual spartan instead of an average marine.
If you take a look at Halo’s cinematic trailers, cutscenes, episodes, etc., you’ll notice that the spartans move a lot quicker than they do in-game (legacy halo, anyway). I just think it would be more accurate to the lore if we were able to continue to move like spartans actually do.
Any thoughts?

I’d prefer classic movement but I’m not opposed to Halo 5’s movement mechanics, I liked them for the most part, though I would argue against Spartan Charge and Ground Pound returning.

What about Halo 5’s mechanics with Classic Halo’s controls?

I actually prefer halo 5’s mechanics but I also like both and could also do without spartan charge and ground pound.

What does “actual spartan” feel like? For that matter, what does an “average marine” feel like? We haven’t played as a marine yet.

Halo 5 does grant more freedom of movement over previous titles, yes, but how free should a Halo game be? Should a Spartan be an average marine, enhanced soldier, superhero, or a god? Halo 3 felt like an enhanced soldier to me, Halo 5 felt like a superhero. I think there is room somewhere in the middle for Halo Infinite, but I’d prefer the game feel more physics based than Halo 5. Thrusters and clambering tend to feel like they override the player’s velocity/momentum in my opinion. The jetpack in reach, for example, applied an actual force that didn’t override the game’s physics.

In the legacy cinematics, spartans moved faster, okay, so increase movement speed and/or acceleration. They don’t necessarily need thrusters or sprint to be “actual spartans” according to the classic titles. I personally like the idea of adding some dynamics to mid-air movement, but i feel Halo 5 took it too far with their thrust and stabilize tuning. On the note of sprint: doesn’t it feel more like an “actual spartan” to be able to move at full speed and shoot simultaneously? Unlike those “average marines” who need to lower their weapon to run?

Halo 5 has some great mechanics with lots of elements that flow together. It just strayed away from what many legacy Halo players wanted. It’s subjective, you’re not wrong in your opinions, i just want Halo Infinite to feel more like (not exactly the same as) the “classic” titles.
