Halo Infinite Should Have Never Come Out on Xbox One Systems

The last gen. gear can barely handle the game and holding the game back so it can keep working on last gen systems hurts the game from being the best it can be. Similar to how Cyberpunk suffered from being developed for last gen and current gen systems.

They just should’ve optimized it decently. They did a terrible job with that. The game doesn’t look very impressive visually; there’s no reason an Xbox One or a PS4 can handle games like Uncharted, Red Dead 2, Spider Man, etc. beautifully and yet can’t handle this game which looks cartoonish in comparison.

Those games where developed for Xbox ones and PS4 that is why they were optimized well. If they were made to work on PS3 and 360 they would have severe issues working on both systems. Destiny 1 had major issues when it came out for old gen and “current gen” until bungie abandoned the PS3 and 360 when developing the first expansion. Similar to how Infinite is having performance issues on Xbox One and Xbox Series systems.

Yup… this is a fact. And arguably shouldn’t have been released on PC either. If they’d have focused on a single platform release I can’t imagine how much of a better state the game would be in now

idk, I feel like that’s pure ignorance on your part. it’s obviously not as simple as just optimising it better for a system it wasn’t made for. it runs like a dream on the series X because it was designed specifically for that console. the X1 is nearly nearing a decade old so it’s no wonder it struggles

you also have a pretty trivial understanding of how development works, a game looking cartoony doesnt somehow make it less demanding

The game shouldn’t of been released at all since it’s not a complete game.

No, It should have never came out on PC ; It later should of been release to PC a year or 2 later like the MCC, with PC, this is where the “ Hackers “ are coming from which are ruining the game.

343 Industries did stat that the game was built for PC players ; This right here really killed the game for me and had me questioning if the game would be worth touching, with it free for Game-pass, then yeah, I’ll play it, once it is removed then Im out ; If they add new content, I will only return for campaign or Multiplayer if it is worth my time.

^ THIS RIGHT HERE ^
The game would thrive just on one platform with a small amount of complaints ; that and Im sure the in game shop wouldn’t be as bad as it is now.

It was probably released on Xbox One because of people struggling to get a Series X due to scalpers or price in general. It was released on PC because the Series X is probably going to be the last Xbox thanks to Windows 11 and the Console Wars in general being basically over. PC will be 10x stronger in 10 years, but Series X will stay the same, so near the end of Infinite’s service, you’ll really notice a difference between the 3.

I’m on PC , and honestly, would’ve bought the Series x just for this game if it was an exclusive. This multiplayltform approach just holds this game back way too much.

Probably due to it coming out on multiple generation of systems and PC. No game that launched cross gen has been good.

If Infinite only launched for the Series systems it would have been optimized much better since it would remove the need to accommodate for 10 year old gear, which arguably has the most effect on keeping the game back.

Also the Xbox OS is nearly identical to windows. The one downside of developing for PC is having to accommodate for the range of weak and strong hardware. Currently the min. system requirements for PC are lower than the base XB1. Accommodating old hardware ends up causing more issues for cross platform releases than anything.

I believe the lowest specs for PC should have been on the level of an XBSS.

then the game would run like utter sh*t on most pc’s, theres alot you dont quite understand about how game development works but in a nutshell, this game had to be optimised twice for next gen consoles, Quality mode (60fps) and performance mode (120) fps, the graphics arent insane for this reason, to make sure it still runs at 120fps because news flash, you cant have both the next gen graphics with the next gen frame rates, you gotta pick 1, having built the game at a higher spec, this wouldnt have worked.

then theres making sure it runs on a large spectrum of PC’s at a stable quality, and then theres making sure people with an xbox one because they cant get a next gen console or afford a pc can still play, you also cannot compare spiderman ps4 with halo saying it looks and runs better, because its solely singleplayer and way less cpu intensive than halo is, halo with how the game is run uses more cpu power

long story short, they did the best with what they could, this game is in the best state any AAA shooter has came out in in a very long time, sure we shouldn’t have hads the sh*t shows we’ve had, but show some respect to the hard work because 343 really did halo justice with this one

In that case, they should have just made it for PC. Because then they’d actually have a playerbase.
Since next gen consoles are unicorns and dont exist

Yeah the AAA angle is one where a lot of people forget about. For all the missing features that of this game, we at least still have a scoreboard.

I get that, but you’re missing the point. Those games look way better than Infinite does, that’s the point. Meaning, they could have easily designed Infinite for the last gen systems and had it run just fine, without compromising the way the game looks at all, since better-looking games can run on those systems easily. They just didn’t put in the work to do so.

No PC release? Hell to the NO!!!

I recently went back to warframe on XB and wow that game looks spectacular compared to infinite

They had to release Halo Infinite on Xbox One and Xbox One X simply due to the massive shortfall in global supply of Xbox Series S and X.

I have no evidence however if there was one reason above anything else why I think this online multiplayer is suffering is because of the multi platforms it is trying to communicate and process with. We all know the servers are total crap and the netcode is dogs bolx, but when a system is trying to communicate and balance multiple systems in the same game then there’s bound to be chronic performance issues…and there’s where and why I think we’re seeing such terrible desync in game as the software is struggling to plot where players actually are (one of the mechanics of online gaming is that the servers often predict or project where they think players should be due to latency and ping).

Hopefully they will provide us with full crossplay options so we can play with players on the same platform…I predict we will see much improved performance if we can connect to servers specific for PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox One.

Good point and all but Infinite was meant to be a next gen game, not a XB1 game. The time and resources spent on the development of the 3 XB1 versions has clearly took away from the next gen experience. ATM I’m running the game 4K/60hz or 1080/120hz, depending if I’m playing story of pvp, and it looks beautiful on both settings. I don’t agree that this game is lacking on graphics. Rather other aspects of Infinite are more noticeably effected such as falling down the flood when using the grapple hook.

Now those game you mentioned.
Red Dead 2, was developed for PS4 and XB1, looks pretty but is full of bugs; your weapons and inventory disappear, missions do not show up, collectables to not count and massive frame drops on both systems.

Uncharted 4 was developed for PS4. Did not launch on other systems. The entire development time was put into making it for the PS4.

Spiderman, same as above. Looks amazing on PS4-pro but has inconsistent FPS and crashy on regular PS4. Again, graphics do not mean well optimized. It just means graphics.

It seems you’re confusing optimization for graphical fidelity.

Word. I’m happy we have more players because of cross play. Like you said, due to the shortage, so this game might have a fraction of it’s player base if it only launched on XBS and PC.

ATM I’m waiting for the post holiday updates and I’m finding more things to complain about. Overall though, I have been enjoying the game.
