I think Infinite should be like Halo 5 in some way.
I really like how the game mechanics flows with the gameplay and the sounds are amazing.
The things I didn’t like with Halo 5 was:
- The sniper flare.
- Changing the playlist all the time. Make playlists permanent.
- The campaign.
- Not enough content at launch.
- All the variants.
(Heres an idea of the variant thing. Instead of having a hundred variants of a vehicle, you can just change the skin like you can with the weapons, and instead of all the armor variants you can just make the white stripes an armor detail customization with the ability to change its colours).
- The req system.
- The lack variants of maps in Warzone. Felt like it was all stone. Could be more of forest map, ocean map and maybe covenant ship map etc.
The things I really want to see from the Halo games in Infinite:
- Playable elites.
- More Co-op vehicles like the falcon and the spectre.
- Reach armor customization, credit and ranking system with Halo 5s content and please make the hayabusa armor return.
- Halo: CE, 2 and 3 main menu concepts with eveyrthing blue and never forget song playing in background.
- Modern weapons with their variants + classic weapons with design from HCE + all the brute weaponry and vehicles, flamehtrower, target locator in firefight, sticky det, focus rifle, concussion rifle, needlerifle, H2 bruteshot etc.
- Spartan ID from Halo 5 with option to change announcer, stance, assassination, weapon skins etc.
(The announcer thing could be more fleshed out, felt like it could have some more epic voices. Really enjoyed having much visor options too.)
- Firefight with enemy customization, like getting a firefight with flood.
- Spartan Ops with missions that you can play as ODST fireteam, noble team, Osiris, Blue team etc. And every fireteam has their own missions and cutscenes.
- Halo 5 forge.
- File share, custom games browser.
- Original trilogy inspired campaign and more of chief, brutes, flood and scarabs.
- I could be open for the open world idea.
- More weapon customization options on the loadouts. Like SMG scope on AR or brute blades on AR.
- More armor mods.
I really cross my fingers for this Halo game to be top notch like in the Halo 3 days!
I think it could do without changing playlists, sniper flare and the tons of different vehicle and weapon variants. It also needs Reach armor customization. Like NEEDS it
I don’t want Halo Infinite to be anything like Halo 5. It was not a good Halo game imo. It was a total grind. I don’t mind earning things in games, but I want fixed rewards for doing them. My biggest gripe was rng, it’s my main issue in many games and I will not support it. I did enjoy the pace of Halo 5 though, I would be happy if that was the same or quicker. I hope Halo Infinite is quite different from Halo 5 tbh.
As a Ninja Gaiden fan I liked the Hayabusa armour and would welcome it’s return. However, I don’t see it returning, it was a deal between Bungie and Team Ninja, Dead or Alive IV got spartan 458 (Nicole) and Team Ninja allowed us to have Hayabusa. It’s not as easy as “make it return” 343i would need consent from Team Ninja, I suppose anything is possible though.
I think Halo Infinite could definitely benefit from some of Halo 5’s features. For one the multiple weapon and vehicle variations allow for different gameplay scenarios and just add to the overall sandbox. Eliminating all these options would be a major step backwards. I also liked Halo 5’s gameplay overall, it was very fast paced and everything just flowed nicely.

Yes, indeed. My only issue with the pool of variants is that it takes up so much space. I think it would be more nice to just be able to change the skins on vehicles like the warthog and moongoses and the armor painting to just be an armor detail option on every armor piece. But with Reach customization maybe that wouldn’t work.
Keeping the game true to the series should be a main priority. A lot of the things OP listed is on most Halo fans wish list, seeing as how the customs browser was so successful it’s likely going to stay(with a few improvements). Armor customization could do with a little more fleshing out, I don’t know how I feel about only having three options. Forge was so good in Halo 5, it’s just short of being a developer level tool at this point, if they do improve it it would be amazing because personally I could not think of what more it needs.
I think there’s so many redundant variants to boost the req pool, making it harder to get what you want in an attempt to get you to play longer and even buy them with real money to quicken the process. Hoping Infinite doesn’t go with the loot box system.

Honestly, as long as the movement mechanics and CSR ranking system are the same or similar to halo 5 I will be happy and love playing the game. It’s good to know people agree with that rather than asking for classic movement to be brought back.
So many people are banging on about Halo 3 being the best, and yeah don’t get me wrong it’s a great game, but Halo Infinite should be a continuation and evolution of Halo 5. For those that love Halo 3 so much and prefer that classic style of gameplay – that’s what MCC is for!

Having a classic playlist isn’t gonna make fans who want classic gameplay to return happy. For starters its not gonna feel right because when the weapons are tailored to a enhanced mobility game the playlist is not gonna play right. That’s why I don’t like the classic playlist in halo 5. Second its not fair to have 1 playlist for fans who only want to play classic halo, it would be like they just threw it in to make them happy. I mean how you feel if they entire game played like classic halo and you had one game mode for enhanced mobility.
And if you just say “oh just go play MCC” that’s not what we want. We want a NEW game that plays and feels like the originals
I honestly dont think we should have the Req system from halo 5, and the Armor Styles got a little crazy and the way things were unlocked were honestly weird. I feel they should take more of a Halo Reach Approach with this. And if they do spartan ops they should make it like they did in Halo-4 . And the Armor customization should be like Reaches.
For the weapon and vehicle variants, I’m all for it in a more simplified way. If it tangibly changes the way it performs, i.e. saw vs. appetite vs. answer, then awesome. No need for tundra/woodland/urban anything though because it was only paintjobs.

Arena - Social and ranked.
Warzone.
but in Infinite, I would hope for the sections to be more like:
Arena - Social, ranked and classic.
Warzone.
Firefight.
Spartan Ops.
and the thing you said about weapons are tailored to enchanced mobility, I think that could be fixed if they returned all the original weapons and used them only in all the classic sections in MP.
Also, they could make the spartan abilities and that stuff changeable for campaign so every player can make their choice on how they want to experience the campaign.

I couldn’t disagree more frankly. The MCC is a collection of old games and we Halo fans want something new supported by the classic style. Therefore just spouting to go back and play at games we already played for well over a decade is not really an argument. It’s like me saying “if you like AMM so much go and play H5G, Crysis or CoD instead”. You understand why that makes little sense and isn’t a valid alternative, right?
Next problem is, we got no alternative other Doom, and that’s just SP. You AMM lovers at least got plenty of different series to choose from for both MP and SP! What do we get? If Hi isn’t a classic Halo, than we got to hope for Installation 01 or for the mod community on Steam to explode in next few years, that is it! But even than, it would never be the same as getting a brand new Halo entry with new mechanics, maps and AAA quality from a professional studio…

Well that idea is just unrealistic. For them to do this they would have to construct maps for two totally different gameplay styles, on top of that also tailor weapons to work with totally different play styles. And your idea for the campaign wouldn’t work because if they design the campaign for spartan abilities and allow you to turn them off it wouldn’t feel right. Just imagine trying to play the halo 5 campaign without sprint and such.
I know you mean well and want everyone to enjoy Halo infinte but that’s just not gonna happen. Unfortunately It’s not gonna make everyone happy when it comes to gameplay whether they stick with spartan abilities, go back to the classic gameplay or somewhere in the middle. I personally hope they go back to classic gameplay I think it’s what most of the community wants and its the best chance at being unique again and not chasing trends in gaming.

Couldn’t agree more. I really hope halo infinite goes back to the classic gameplay style. It’s part of what made the game unique in the first place.
Armor unlock should follow reach system, but consumable reqs should be obtained from req packs.

Bold - Yeah I agree completely with what ADE MacBamboo01 said in his post about this. That is a very poor argument. People can say “well you have Halo Reach, 4 and 5 if you want advanced moment or AAs or whatever in your Halo game. That’s what those games are for!” …see, not a good argument bud, sorry.
@OP (Lanzerat) I would like to see some things from 5 return, but not a lot to be honest. My thoughts on yours are,
- Sniper flare I’m mainly indifferent on but leaning towards getting rid of it - Changing playlists is due to low population so it’s necessary. If Halo had a higher population like it used too, I would be all for having them all permanent. - I don’t want the campaign like 5 at all. I want to play as the chief a heck of a lot more and I don’t want the squad system in it in it’s current form. If it’s too return I want it more like the Halo 3 system. - Agree on more content at launch. I want a finished game on launch. - Also agree on weapon and vehicle variance. Personally I wouldn’t have any of them and I would just have all new weapons and or vehicles instead. If you want more. Maybe some are only in certain modes like BTB, Firefight, campaign, etc. - Since mirotransactions will be back (joy…) I would be in favor of more of Reach/Overwatch type of system. The REQ system isn’t terrible, but it isn’t good either. - Warzone should be scrap completely and a greater focus should be put on BTB and firefight. - I’m not opposed to playable elites as long as it’s done like Halo 3 and they don’t have different abilities or powers aka it’s no different picking to play a Spartan. If you are going to do that, it needs to be in a game mode like in Halo Reach how it’s only in that mode. - More co-op vehicles sounds good - Armor system I discussed already - The UI in general needs to be completely revamped and be a lot more like older Halo. Halo 5 UI is some of the worst I’ve seen out there. - I don’t want weapon variants at all I’d rather just have new weapons. - Option to change assassination animations, announcer etc like we can now, sounds good to me. - Firefight should 100% be back but It needs to be more along the lines of ODST firefight. - Spartan ops is interesting as I always thought the idea was good but it just wasn’t executed right. It could definitely be something if done properly. - Forge should definitely be back and expanded they did a good job of it in 5 - Custom browser should definitely be back - They’re should be more original campaign stuff and references in what not, agreed. - I do not want the main Halo series to be an open world Halo game. I’m fine with a completely new game, like a side game aka ODST type stuff. I prefer levels and I hope infinite is levels, just big like how CE were and can be explored. I’m actually quite tired of open world games. - Loadouts have absolutely no place in Halo along with the dumb ADS style zooming look and mechanic I’ll add - I don’t want armor mods and things back. I’d rather have equipment back that functions like Halo 3. There are endless possibilities with equipment.I too cross my fingers that Halo Infinite will be a top notch game like Halo 3 was.
