I think I have to be clear from the start, I think the trailers looked amazing and it’s absolutely so exciting to see some multiplayer too! Classic meets new is definitely apparent and I am extremely happy with everything I’ve seen so far.
With that out of the way I would like to get into the reason I’m writing this, and that is to express my initial thoughts on the trailers after watching them during the e3 stream.
My thoughts unfortunately weren’t about how cool the graphics look or how fleshed out these new additions to the Halo characters in Infinite are already with just a few minutes of screen time. My thoughts sat with where’s the release date? When’s the beta/flighting?
We’ve seen these amazing leaps forward each trailer and have been getting bits and pieces but it’s not enough to make me feel like it’s a real thing. More like I’m just waiting around for more news instead of the game itself. Which is frustrating given that I want to play the game not wait for more news.
I do definitely enjoy getting new info and news but without a definitive date, without knowing about a beta/flight everything I’ve seen so far feels weightless and without substance. I definitely believe that any information and news about Infinite that involves any of the things I listed above should have been said in front of the millions of people that tuned in. I feel that was a missed opportunity.
Again, the game looks amazing, I’ve loved every aspect about it and I’ve seen a bunch of positivity around the multiplayer trailer and the extra campaign trailer. I just wish I could take that information and put it to a date, give it some weight. Instead I have all this cool stuff and nowhere to go with it.

There’s another video on multiplayer coming out today and then a Cannon Fodder on Wednesday.

I’m more than aware extra videos are being released. My point to that is (and then what?).
My wife and I are looking at taking a break from work to chill out and due to COVID, travelling isn’t really an option. So we’re going to binge some tv shows, some movies, play some games (Infinite). A nice staycation. We have to book work off and I can’t tell my boss “oh yeah I’ll take fall 2021 off please”.
I’ve had this game pre ordered for almost two years, which is longer than I play most games for. I didn’t diminish any work 343 have put into the development of this game, it looks amazing - there’s just nowhere to go with it. I’ve got to be honest. I had expectations and I feel that they were only half met during e3. Especially when I stayed up til 3am to watch it with my friends. Only to find out that I didn’t have to do that I could’ve just slept woken up watched part 1 and then part 2 later on that day.
The comment of “chill” is a bit presumptuous as really I’ve had nothing but nice things to say, credit due where it’s owed etc. There’s nothing wrong however with being disappointed and explaining that in a constructive way. I think my explanation is actually pretty good in terms of why I wrote this to begin with.
I get you. We’ve been following this game for ages but even now, after a delay and three E3s, we still don’t really know what it is. We’re only just starting to get details about gameplay and the game is going to launch in less than 6 months.
I like 343, but they sure are being stingy as hell about the details of the game. I mean we got a release date for Starfield at the very same conference! It’s wild!

I’m in total agreement with you. I guess we just have to bide our time and hope it all works out at the end. I’d say soon but we’re at the end essentially.

The way I read the original post is that you are looking for more information about multiplayer, which is coming very soon.
To condemn the game as being hollow because we don’t have a release date and they only showed 2 minutes of multiplayer gameplay in a 90 min E3 conference with 26 other games seems ridiculous to me.
