I dont think they will mix Halo Wars Characters with Main Halo games.They said they want to make story simple after Halo 5.

funny enough they said in the past halo wars 2 will tie into infinite

Doubt it will be too simple. It wouldn’t make much sense if they toned down the story too much or we could end up with too many loose ends that won’t make sense plus HW2’s ending is sort of directly linking to H5 so it be strange if they ignored that since it seems Cortana has met Anders since this was the first game related story connection where the main games have sort of met with the side games story. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the Spirit of Fire ended up meeting up with the Infinity…even if it’s only for a short fight before dealing with something else. Plus the problem with H5’s story wasn’t about it being complicated…it was that it didn’t make much sense in more ways than 1, it didn’t add up with the marketing.
Is it likely the Flood will be back? I’d hold off on that. If Infinite is indeed on Installation 07? Perhaps, but a small outbreak at best. The Unggoy of Balaho joined the Created, so expect them. Everything else is up in the air.

However, it’s at the very least been talked about by 343 Industries, ie the Created-allied Unggoy. Sure, other comics and books might come out, but you have to remember that 343 Industries is keeping their game stories separate from the expanded universe. Whatever enemies are with the Created will probably get a brief explanation of why they are with the Created in-game. I wouldn’t go mining whatever books or such come out for any indication of what is to come.
I miss the drones and skirmishers. Sadly, the Skirmishers were supposedly extinct after Reach. Really expecting some brutes though.

The galaxy doesn’t stand a chance.
We are either getting the Banished or Created-allied ex-covies (above mentioned Grunts). It can’t be Halo without the Covenant species (even if they ain’t called the Covenant no more). Would be really cool to see what sorts of Forerunner tech Cortana provides her new allies. Jackals with hardlight shields? Jetpack assisted Drones (buzzing you on Legendary at Mach 5)? The possibilities are endless.
HW2 story is supposed to influence Infinite’s story so I guess there’s a possibility of Brutes, I forget if there was Engineers in HW2.
