It seems that 343 still wants to force us with this outlines and indicators system by just making some adjusments but, S****houldn’t they just give us the option to disable the outlines?
Halo Infinite has an excesive ammount of outlines and indicators. Outlines to indicate who is your enemy, outlines to indicate who is your teammate, outlines to indicate enemy vehicles, outlines to indicate teammates vehicles, indicators when vehicles will destroy, indicators when you horn the warthog, etc…
On the battlefield it just feels like you’re fighting holograms and makes me lose immersion (considering enemies still won’t drop any blood when you shoot them) and it’s also a waste of the amazing detailed armors we have.
My solution would be to give us the option of choosing:
You don’t like the outlines and indicators? disable them and activate “Hardcore Mode”.
You want red v/s blue armor colors? Activate “Classic Mode”.
You just want to see the outlines on your enemies but not on your temmates? Enable the outlines “Only on enemies”.
You don’t want to see the outlines on vehicles? Enable the option “Only Spartans”
Etc…
343 had given us the option to choose several times, like in MCC where we can dissable the new skins in Halo 3 or even in Halo Infinite where you can disable the sprint lines.
I think throughout the forums everyone agrees the outlines are a detriment. They make sneaking impossible. They hide the custom armor. They’re just too much.
The problem with a “toggle” on off is that as annoying as they are, they provide a tactical advantage to having them on, so people will just suffer through that to gain the advantage. Just because you turn yours off doesn’t mean you won’t get spotted from across the map in a moment.
I could see them going down a route of service tag showing up like on battlefield. Maybe making the option to toggle between Red v Blue or service tags or something like that where it is less difference in what you use.
I understand it is to help newbies and less experienced players to have a better experience, but maybe it turns off after you hit a certain XP level.

I would love to see a clip of someone across the map without an outline that you can’t see, but would be perceptible with an outline. I find this argument absolutely bizarre.
I feel that it wouldn’t be necessary for enemies to have the outlines if your team mates have them

That’s why I think 343 should give us as many options as we want. It will be our responsibility if we give up to that tactical advantage for more immersion or a “cleaner” look, not forcing everyone to add something nobody asked for.

I think they are looking at doing a toggle off option based on first flight feedback.

What I mean to say is that, you might turn it off because you don’t want it, but you’ll still suffer the consequences of it existing, not in an aesthetic sense, but in a tactical sense. You will gain the option to have a cleaner experience, but someone else will gain the option to spot you hiding between trees. I think it’s either everyone has it or no one has it. Toggle is a bad idea. I personally do not want outlines, and I want to be able to sneak. Can’t have that with the toggle option existing.

If you read through forums there are plenty of people who witnessed it. They were able to see players and make shots that they wouldn’t have without the outlines. It is so bright and prominent. The map is huge. You’re probably the only one that thinks it is bizarre.
