Halo Infinite Ranked Placements

Hello all -

I’m wondering if there’s some sort of block on players who have already been ranked playing with players who still have to do their placement matches. I tried to play with my friend last night who is unranked (I’m Diamond 4) and we kept getting an issue, “There was an issue with Halo Infinite Servers.” We tried to play duos in which we are both unranked and it worked and he was able to play regular squad mode ranked by himself. Does anyone know?

Yea there’s a block.

I believe that I missed this in the update, but this is exactly what happened to me too. I play nine straight games with my brother and I got ranked Platinum. He was one game away from being ranked and we couldn’t play together anymore. I’m very confused why this is put in place for ranked matchmaking.
