This is going to sound really silly but when Halo infinite comes out it will be on both platforms. Xbox one and the new xbox platform. If I keep to the xbox one will I be able to play against the players on the new platform on matchmaking?
Halo Infinite will release on Xbox One and the new upcoming console however, I am unsure whether the two consoles will be in the same match making but they could.
Think one can assume all versions of the game will use the same servers and be cross-platform.
Imagine if the Series X launched but was very supply-limited for many months because of the 'rona, you wouldn’t want that small group of players to be stuck together in only like 3 playlists
Or imagine if you can’t join a Halo Infinite fireteam with your Xbox One friends because you upgraded to the Series X, that might actually dis-incentivize sales

From what I understand all players on the Xbox platform can play together.
Standard Xbox One, One S, One X & Series X.
The game will just perform differently on different consoles.
May encounter less detailed graphics, lower FPS etc. Not sure on specifics but they won’t lock players out by console
Yes it will be on the Xbox One. If its multiplayer will be cross-generational, not sure but most likely.
Yes, Halo Infinite will be on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Yet Xbox One will probably have a hard time running the game, so XSX and PC are better options.

That article actually doesn’t say anything about cross-play. Cross-gen games could still in theory have segregated multiplayer, though I don’t expect Infinite will.

I would assume that there will be cross-play including the Xbox One, Xbox One Series X, and PC. Though, that still is not a 100% answer.

Cross gen play has been confirmed.

There you go, cross-play is happening and this can improve the Halo: Infinite population. Also, this may mean I need a gaming PC now.

I told you cross gen play has been confirmed. Odd reply imo. I would hold off on the PC until 343i confirm. All we know is cross gen play has been confirmed, as X1 and Series X.

Halo: Infinite is confirmed for PC.

I know. Cross play has not been confirmed with PC yet, as far as I know.

That’s the point. All of the Halo: Infinite’s need to be cross-play. It would greatly help the lifespan.

If the game is good it will do fine without PC cross play imo. I’m okay with PC cross play as long as I have the option to turn it off.

That would be a good feature to turn off when ready.

I would have PC cross play off completely. I stopped playing CoD because they force PC cross play in Warzone and Ground War.
At the moment we assume that X1 and XsX are cross-playable. PC is the uncertain one. I hope we at least would have cross-platform coop across all platforms.
