For Halo infinite, if 343 decides to do a battle royal I feel like they should make it where you either drop in as an odst from a drop pod or if they choose the spartan approach either a drop pod or boosters on the armor. When you finally reach the ground if you are a spartan your spartan only has the black undersuit with only a health bar with no sheilds, you will have to find armor pieces such as a helmet, gauntlets, torso, shoulders, and legs. When you get the armor if it is in pairs like leg armor or shoulder armor it should automatically come with both so that you do not have to go looking the whole game just looking for that one piece. The shields should come from the armor so if you get all the armor, your shields are at 100%, but if you are missing like just one of the set, you should have less shields. Your shields should come back over time but you should be able to take a shield charge to regain them quicker but for your health you should have to find med-kits to heal. The weapons found on the ground should be the base guns from the series but you should be able to find attachments like in Halo 5 Guardians with the variants which make it easier to aim with or something like putting a suppressor on to make it more difficult to hear and see where the opposing team is getting shot from. The battle royal should have certain skill set that you can use for the spartan or odst like being a medic, recon, assault, or support. If there are vehicles in the battle royal the assault should have a boost to damage with explosives and their special should be able to call in an air strike on an area of interest. The medic should be able to carry more medical supplies, also has a special ability to drop a healing zone to recarge health. Also should have the ability to be able to heal downed teammates faster. The recon should be able to pulse an area around him and ping any nearby enemies, also their special should be able to highlight enemies in their vision and be able to climb over obstacles faster and a slight increase in sprint speed. Finally we have the support that can carry more ammo, has a rechargeable ability that drops an ammo pack for one person, and their special ability is to drop a care package of their choice to either call in a special weapon or to call in a ammo crate for the squad to use. For the armor customization I feel like everyone should look different and be rewarded for playing such as getting a new armor piece after getting a certain amount of eliminations or playing for so long. Or other things that should distinguish players are things like being able use a preset face under the helmet with a see through visor or have the option turn off show helmet, also having things like scratches or war paint would be an cool addition to the game.
