I hope in the new halo game customization is like halo 3 and reach were to get armor you have to get achievements to earn them or buy them with in game money. REQ packs cost real money and are randomized so half the time you dont get the armour.
Ske7ch confirmed awhile back that fans of Reach’s customization “would be pleased” with Infinite, but what that entails is completely up to speculation. Nothing’s been confirmed about the ranking system and how/if it’ll tie into how armor is unlocked.

They cost real money only if you pay real money. 10000 req points gets you a gold too. Play the game and unlock everything. I don’t think this player base realize how good this implementation of MTX was in comparison to others in the industry. I cannot tell you how many duplicates I’ve gotten in Call of Duty. Even moreso annoying when you get all excited for an epic only to see you already have it and get like nothing as a result.

The problem isn’t that it’s the worst system, as much as it wasn’t at all an improvement over the previous iterations.
Halo reach, halo 3, and halo 4 all offered you challenges and goals you could set in order to earn different pieces of armor you want.
Halo 5 dumps hundreds of mid to low tier armor peice into the pool, locks them behind RNG packs, then proceedes to limit options for what we can customize to head, visor, and chest. The only way you get them is from Reqs, that’s it. Their are maybe a total of 5 armors you can get outside of this system, but one of which was introduced to the Reqs, and the others are very challenging to achieve.
I seriously doubt the req system will return in Infinite. I think the statistic was I believe a 50% approval rate which is pretty bad in the gaming industry. If it does return, I can pretty much guarantee it will have some pretty significant changes.
But yeah easily the best thing about Halo 5’s lootbox system was that there were no duplicates. Thank God for that.

343 is full of awesome people who definitely listen to us, but don’t hold your breath that the Req system will be gone. They made a lot of money off of those things, and unfortunately that might be the deciding factor.

Perhaps. Though if it does return I hope it’s something similar to this.
I wrote that almost 2 and a half years ago and it’s a bit cringy to see how I could have worded things so much better lol.

No kidding, bloody hell.
Looking at you Apex Legends…
i like the idea of grinding for armor sets. but there should also be some default ones you can use
