Halo Infinite or An Infinite lack of info?

I cant be the only one who is wondering how they have made such a big deal about Halo Infinite being a spiritual reboot for the community, yet we know absolutely nothing and been left in the dark for almost 2 years now!! We’re supposed to trust 343s word on this after Halo 5? I like Halo 5s gameplay excluding the Spartan charge and ground pound(GARBAGE), but the limitations in multiplayer is irritating I mean do we only get 3 maps for Slayer? What is this? Hope you put your money where your mouth is since that’s about all we get is lip smacking and No actual comforting news for the game we waited 5… I’ll repeat 5!! Years!!

Yes, you are literally the only one shocked at the lack of news.

I wish there was more info as well, but the lack of game play news isn’t surprising.

343 got really beat up over the long duration marketing campaign for Halo 5 and they don’t want it to happen again.

Infinite is extremely important for the Series X launch, and the future of the Xbox brand, so they’re handling information about it very carefully.

Expect to hear something around June when E3 was originally scheduled to occur.

Every time I see someone say, “people were upset over Halo 5: Guardians’ marketing”, I can’t help but feel that they’re making excuses. People were upset last time due to being deliberately misled by the marketing. As long as 343 Industries are honest, there will be no, “the sole focus of the marketing was actually a brief cutscene of little importance” moments.

Sure, but if you have no marketing at all you can’t potentially mislead people.

And that’s the route they’ve taken with Infinite. Halo 5 isn’t an “excuse”. They’re just not interested in a long running ad campaign before launch regardless of what people on this forum think they should do.

No, you’re not alone and not the only thread we’ve had on the matter either.

Showing the game too early was never the problem, lying to our faces with missleading trailers/marketing for the singleplayer campaign got them in trouble.
Having a MP Beta that “early” in development has actually been something the community appreciated a lot…

You have to consider how the misleading occurred in first place though. It wasn’t certainly their intention to do so, but the game changed quite a lot in the last year of production, so the marketing and actual game weren’t aligned anymore. Reason why 343i, or better, MS in general from now on only showcases what is certain to be shipped on disc! Well, in the digital day one download at least… You know what I mean!

EDIT: Also OP you realise this is at least tread #5 with the very same topic, right? The title is quite creative though, I give you that!^^

Less than 8 months left before release.

There won’t be any info til around summer time.
Microsoft still have to organise and event after E3 was cancelled.
Halo news will drop when news for other games cokes out too. All patience my friend, the gaming news cycle will come around.

Personally, this isn’t a case about having to trust 343i to get it right or any wild conspiracies for why there isn’t info. It’s very much the case of business as usual.

There hasn’t been a lot of news but all of the news that they have revealed has been positive so I disagree with that “no comforting news” statement.

wasn’t really a deliberate misleading. the marketing was following the original story 343 had planned for halo 5. however, 10 months before the release of the game Microsoft made 343 scrap their story and re-write it

This is the first time I’ve heard of Microsoft forcing 343 Industries to change the story.

Please link me to someone from either company stating this.
