hmm I been thinking about halo infinite im starting to think its gonna be open world least on the campaign side obviously part of the description says alive with excitement
a living breathing world ripe for exploration and endless gameplay possibilities that to me personally sounds like a open world type game and if its not empty and barebones has plenty of side quests alongside the main missions I would be down to give it a shot nonetheless im pretty excited to find out more

Where did you see that wording ? Could you link it please ?

Edit = I found where out where you read that, I’m very excited about what we have seen so far, I also cannot wait to learn more.

OP, a lot of people have that feeling, myself included, but we shouldn’t get our hopes up because we are just inferring this from how open the trailer looked.

This is the official discription. Maybe the OP misread it? It’s somewhat similar.

"The Master Chief returns in the next chapter of the legendary franchise in Halo Infinite. Developed by 343 Industries and created with the studio’s new Slipspace Engine, Halo Infinite debuted at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing with a thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise that leads it into new and unexpected directions."

I read that too. I don’t think it’s somewhat similar to the OP’s wording, his wording does not appear in there at all, that’s why I asked him where he read that.

Edit = OP did not misread it. Slipspace Engine

Ah, I see now. I think this is referring to the engine rather than the game.

The words ( A living, breathing world ripe for exploration and endless gameplay possibilities ) refer to the game imo.

I completely agree, definitely talking about the game. It’s either referring to huge levels like Combat Evolved or an open world.

yea sounds more like open world

Hoping its not open world like destiny or something new, would feel like ODST but still, just not sure how to feel about it taking on open world gameplay :0

I agree, we have to wait and see, but it’s hard not to let our imaginations run wild. I’m trying to be level headed but that reveal was amazing and the possibilities are endless. Here’s hoping we get a good Halo game, I would settle for that above all else.

agreed I think its open world or something to that

I think the trailer was just to show the engine not that it’s going to be a open world (although the nods and the hints are probably really going to happen)

the description of the engine on 343 website puts a emphasis on open world

I’d like to see multiple ways to travers a level. Allow ways for players play how they choose. Snipers can gain elevation and pick off enemies from a distance. Players who prefer vehicular combat can bomb into a group of NPCs and shred. And those who like charging into waves of enemies, blowing away grunts and bashing Promethean’s, can do so.

I don’t know how I feel about an open world Halo. We are so used to playing in the first person. So would it change? Would we be able to see our Master Chief running around and killing bad guys? Being able to fly or slipspace travel to different space ports to upgrade our armor actually sounds pretty cool, come to think of it.

But yeah. Our imaginations could run wild with high hopes for this new Halo. I play on returning to this Halo Universe for this game.

IF, it is an open world I don’t think it would change, and it does not have to. Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world rpg, but it’s an fps with third person driving, which is what Halo has always been. No need to change imo.
