One thing we know for sure about Halo Infinite is that it will be released on the Xbox One “family of consoles”, which means it’ll also release on Xbox One S and the 2013 Xbox One. Needles to say, these systems aren’t exactly powerhouses. I’m wondering how current generation base model Xbox’s are going to impact the developement of Halo Infinite. A game which looks like it’s optimsed for next-gen hardware.
The fact that Halo Infinite will release for the Xbox One makes the open world rumor highly unlikely. Given the graphical fidelity shown in the Slipspace engine demo, along with it running at 60 fps, there’s no way the Xbox One (S) will be able to deliver that kind of experience.
The question that remains; what will the Xbox
One (S) version of Halo Infinite deliver then? Especially compared to the Xbox One X, and more importantly, the next-gen Xbox version.
It will be like it is with every new game. The best way to play is on an Xbox X with a 4K tv, next is the Xbox S and then day one. The Xbox S is a capable machine, both Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey look fantastic on it, and they’re open world, however, the hardware will age and newer more powerful machines will be required. Also, never believe what you see at E3 will be final build, Anthem, Halo and countless others have been guilty of over selling the scale and graphic fidelity in the past.
What we saw at last years E3, is just the engine demo. It shows what it is capable of, not what the game itself will look like in the final build.
Ofcourse the X will have the power to really push the games graphics but the S and Standard One console will not hamper the game per say, they’ll run the game with less fidelity though.
Ofcourse we’ll get a closer look at E3 to how the game looks and how far it has come.
Maybe they’re going to go the multiple settings route. I.e. you can opt for higher frame rate at the cost of resolution and vice versa in SP with the MP obviously being locked.
It will be similar to PC settings. Lower the hardware, lower the settings.

Yea agreed I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the case give the players options
