With all previous Halo games coming to Steam it would only be fitting for the first truly PC oriented Halo to do the same. It would also be pretty weird to give Steam users the first Halo games and then ask them to switch clients for the next release.
We’ve already seen Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, and even Halo Wars make it to Steam. However Forza and the rest of the big Microsoft titles are still trapped on the second worst gaming store out there (EPIC being number 1 worst, of course).
What do y’all think. Could MCC be the first to start a trend, or is Microsoft going to keep being weird about it?
Now they’ve started, I’d be surprised if Halo 5 and Infinite didn’t also go to Steam as well as Windows Store.
It’s not just technical considerations though, there’s probably been a lot of behind the scenes negotiating about Contracts, Profit Sharing and Legal stuff regarding Copyright etc., all going on to set this deal up.

I’d be surprised if MS didn’t negotiate a much lower revenue share with Steam. No doubt getting Halo is a big enough deal for them to allow wiggle room. If Halo Infinite gets a proper Steam release I will be so happy, and it would be amazing to see old XBOX games make their way over as well.
I’ve been wanting a re-release of Brute Force for so long.

No sería irrazonable pensar en eso, agregaron HMCC.

I’m hoping that MCC does great on steam and we see H6 and all xbox games moving forward on there as well. Microsoft should be releasing their games on every PC platform they can to maximize exposure. I don’t think keeping their games on their own store only is good for them or their games. Just look at the reaction from the PC community of the MCC steam announcement, it’s overwhelming. I don’t think it would be getting this much love if it were Windows store only.
I think it depends on how well MCC is going to sell on Steam.
If the saga demonstrate to have a good grip on PC players, than I think 5 and Infinite will definitely come on PC. Also, MC pushing for cross buy with Play Everywhere will be another incentive

It’s up to the publisher. For example, 4A didn’t want to release Metro Exodus exclusively for Epic Games Store on PC but their publisher did.

They don’t do that thankfully. The most you have to do is make an xbox account but that’s it.

i think that if Halo Infinite will be playable on steam that it will take 2 years longer before pc players can play it on the pc and in the mean time it will be playable only on xbox one.
since there is no release date for MCC on steam there not know how it will turn out and it will take also a lot off time to chance a lot off things with the game also since there most chance all the xbox one settings to pc same go’s for the button layout that will take a lot off time for then the do.
that there need to wait longer then xbox one players is a thing there most accept
I believe that it depends heavily on how well the MCC is received on steam.
I hope Microsoft would just release all their titles on Steam. Now their titles are just offered randomly on different storefronts. I really hope MCC does well.

Yeah it’s a bummer HW2 isn’t on Steam. If MCC gets good enough sales hopefully Microsoft will consider adding Wars 2 to Steam as well.

Same, I’d love HW2 on Steam. Even though I already can play it on my computer via Xbox’s “Play Anywhere” feature, it’s something I’d end up buying twice tbh, out of habit if anything else.
I can’t see why the MCC wouldn’t do well on Steam, given how people reacted to the initial announcements. ^^
The correct option would be to launch Halo infinite in steam, everything would be more comfortable and this would benefit 343 and Microsoft in sales.
I fully support that EPIC GAMES is the worst store XD

I HOPE MICROSOFT NEVER NEVER RELEASE HALO INFINITE ON STEAM AND THAT THEY FOCUS ON MAKING WINDOWS STORE THE BEST PC STORE ON THE MARKET AND FIXING ITS PROBLEMS SO VALVE/STEAM STOP BEING LAZY AND START MAKING HALF LIFE 3, THEY HAVE TO STOP BEING THAT LAZY BECAUSE THEIR PC FANBASE SUCK EVERYTHING THEY TROW AT THEM. STOP DEFENDING VALVE SO MUCH, THEY DONT MAKE A HALF LIFE SEQUEL AND NOW WILL GET HALO. NO NO NO NO.
I’d be shocked if it wasn’t on Steam, since Microsoft is all aboard the good-will train nowadays. I’ll always dream of it being on GOG and I guarantee you I will always be let down, but that’s pretty unrealistic when Microsoft is involved.
Microsoft has been pretty buddy buddy with steam recently, as they have been releasing all the Xbox pc titles there (Except for outer worlds but that’s because the epic games deal was already signed) It would be extremely unlikely for infinite to not release on steam.
