halo infinite on steam, still need xbox log in?

Hi!

So, if I buy the game on steam. Do I still need to log in on my xbox account like mcc? Cuz I have an xbox @live account that I want to use on halo infinite. But my steam account is a gmail. Sooo, can I log in to the @live account when I boot it up via steam?

It will almost definetly be an option, as I think there is going to be Cross Play, which would need an Xbox account. It will probably not be required as some people won’t play multiplayer

To answer the question, yes you log into your gamertag on MCC on steam.
