Halo Infinite October Flight Feedback

Xbox One S

Overall, my friends and I had a great time playing this and we are going to be throwing hours at this game when it comes out. There are a lot of good things about this flight and a lot of things that need some tweaking.

Done Well:

  • I feel all the guns fit well in the sandbox and are fairly balanced - The speed of the mongoose is perfect… this is the very first Halo game where I actually feel it is a viable option to hop on a mongoose, with or without a passenger - Spawns are very well placed; I haven’t been spawn killed once during both weekends of the flight - Weapon sounds are improved and overall sound pretty good (except I still would like to hear the glass shatter on a needler supercombine) - Fun Factor; the game is simply fun to play and mess around with the sandbox given to you, especially fusion coilsCould Use Improvement

  • Pause menu UI - Bug causing screen to flash when scrolling too fast through options - Controls - I’m not sure if it’s a lack of enough aim assist or missing bullet magnetism, but the controls feel very difficult to use. The weapons I have noticed this most heavily on it the battle rifle (sensitivity seems to lose a lot of control when scoped, AA turns off, recoil seems too heavy when scoped but that’s my opinion), the sniper rifle (shots don’t seem to be hitting when it looks like they should and is overall very difficult to zero in on targets from hip or scoped), and the sidekick (although not as much, it does feel inconsistent in sensitivity and aim assist during random intervals). - Warthog could use a speed nerf. I think that to contrast enough with the mongoose, it needs to be slightly slower due to it’s boost in carry capacity and a turret - Air vehicles could use a small HP boost - Players need to earn battlepass xp from playing matches, not exclusively from doing challenges. When I am always forced to do challenges to progress the pass, it feels like I’m not playing the game to have fun, I’m playing the game to do a chore; it forces you to play certain ways to level up, instead of simply playing the game to have fun and level up in the process. I also noticed a lack of actual xp rank (General, SR 152, etc)? The numbers displayed next to my tag reflected the battlepass level… so is there not rank system like in mcc and 5?It’s been fun so far and I’m looking forward to the full release!

I forgot to add, I’ve noticed there is a lack of decals on the floors and walls, such as bullet holes, explosion scorch marks, and blood splatters if it is in the game (I’m sure it would make a lot of people happy if it was). I noticed this across the board in MP, but explosion marks and a small amount of bullet holes were present in training mode.
