Halo Infinite - No audio

As soon as the Halo Infinite technical launches, there is no observable audio on the title screen, in training mode, vs Bots, etc.

Audio settings are up, recognizes microphone, headset works, Nvidia graphic/audio drivers updated.

Does anyone else have this issue or methods to resolve this?

Thanks

Not only does the game have no audio once I pass the title screen, it mutes my entire PC.

My fix for this is to close the game, go into my sound settings > manage sound devices and disable every other device (most of which are virtual) that I’m not using. Then open up the game and the sound should work.

Also been having this issue where it mutes the entire PC

I had the same issue of it muting my whole pc, used the same solution stated above but the audio was lower quality and choppy as hell for me. Make sure you guys submit tickets for this with dxdiag file so they can see if it’s an issue relating to the same hardware we’re using perhaps.

I’m still having this issue as state - Audio during the brief intro, but directly after hitting “Continue” my entire PC is muted.

If anyone has found a fix please post it - I tried Managing the other audio devices (disabled) as stated above, but that did not fix the issue.

after I press “enter” to play, it just mutes all audio?

if i go into a game its also muted

i can hear other people while playing matchmaking but i dont think anyone can hear me. i also dont know if i cant mute individuals or if i could at least hit enter and type to them that would be nice

Are you using headphones that might have two devices associated with them? Windows 10 lists two audio devices associated with my headphones, one is a “headset” and one is “headphones”. If I use one, the audio is choppy. This is the specific device causing the problem for me.

Yeah I noticed that, for some reason even when I disabled it the game would still default to the choppy one for a while. Later that day though I was able to get it to default to the right one. Still have to disable all other audio devices though, which is weird.

I found a solution to this. I’m using the Sony wh1000mx2 and it has two sound profile, stero and AG. For some reason, the game always switches to the AG profile and mutes the whole pc. So, you just need to:

  1. right click the sound icon on the tray
  2. click Sound and go to Playback tab.
  3. Disconnect the audio that the game is set to and set the audio source that you want to listen to as primary

+1

To anyone still needing a fix, I had to figure it out again since getting my new PC. The first step is to go into the audio playback control panel and set your headset as the default device. If that doesn’t do the trick, and your headphones have a built-in microphone, go into the recording settings, disable your headset “hands-free” mic, and in playback disable the hands-free audio for your headset. For some reason the engine that MCC and Halo Infinite are built on tries to access your mic by default and therefore block your stereo playback.

I don’t know why it happened, but during a BTB match on Saturday, all audio except grenade bounces and vehicle accelerating (When driving a vehicle, not others driving) disappeared for the entire match. I had to close and load the game to fix it
