Halo Infinite news at the 2018 VGA’s

If more Halo Infinite news is going to be revealed this year, the 2018 VGA’s would be the last chance to do so.

yep but will they though? im not sure have to wait and see

I don’t think they will show anything there, I think the next event we’ll get major news is E3 2019. If we get anything before that I’m guessing it’ll be very small.

I still think we need something before E3

100% with this.

I don’t think Microsoft needs to show anything either to be honest (maybe minus a few small things, concept art and such) I want to see things just as much as the next person, trust me… but showing things too early isn’t a good idea either. Look at all the criticism they got after showing crackdown 3 early on. Everyone says things like it doesn’t look great and such and I honestly think it killed a ton of hype that game had. I really don’t see crackdown 3 selling that well, in part of this. People don’t care it’s early build of a game or not. They see it and they’ve already made up there mind.

If I was Microsoft, I wouldn’t show anything Halo 6 until I know it looks and sounds fantastic! I also want the most eyes in the world on it when I debut it and that’s E3 in my opinion.

This gen they messed up on a few titles by announcing/showing them off too early, case in point Fable Legends, Phantom Dust, Scalebound, and like you said, Crackdown 3. Three of those games were cancelled, and one of them STILL isn’t out even though it was announced… 4 years ago?

They realize this and said they are going to be much more secretive about announcing/revealing games to avoid this. I like that they’re taking their time and only showing off stuff when they’re ready. That engine demo looked beautiful and hyped me up, now I’m hungry for more.

I actually think if it wasn’t Halo we’re talking about, 343i/Microsoft wouldn’t even have pulled the curtains off it yet. I think that they just showed us that trailer because it’s been 3 years since H5 and they know we’ve been eager for a reveal. When XO18 was announced 343i said they weren’t going to show anything and were thinking about when to show something next. That gives me the feeling we’re gonna have to a while yet if they don’t even know when and they might not even know what they want to show, so my bet is 2019 because they basically have to at this point.

EDIT: I feel Crackdown 3 won’t sell well either. It looks okay to me, but with Anthem and Metro launching a week later, Crackdown will be forgotten within the month. I hope I’m wrong though, the destruction in that game sounds good so I hope it’s a much better game than the impression the gameplay videos have given off.

We could get something but I don’t think we’ll get the big trailer we’re all waiting for, that’ll probably be at E3 2019. I’d be happy if we get something like concept art, a release window or maybe even details as to how the game will play (classic or enhanced mobility).

I honestly thought they would have showed something at the X0 if they were gonna annonce anything. It would have brought attention that they are starting to do the X0 convention again, and satiated us fans who wait with baited breath for ANY news. Not to say if they announce something at VGA ill be disappointed, because honestly…i want the game already.

They have absolutely no reason to announce anything at the VGAs. It’s not nearly as high-profile as E3 and the trailer we saw was an engine demo. A talented company like 343i can make some good progress on a game in 5-6 months, but not enough to show off a near-complete game. Expect nothing before E3, especially if there’s no news for Gears 5.
