After replaying the entire MCC in preparation for Infinite, I really noticed that readability is optimal when HUD elements are in the top part, because it’s where most of the action is, while the bottom part is obstructed by our weapon and only used when above in close range.
I do not count the Radar in this since it can be disabled by a skull or in Competitive games.

Also, spliting weapons and grenades + equipments so they can be bigger helps with readability when in action.
Another helpful element is using symbols instead of number for the current weapon. It’s faster to read a drawing full or empty than read small numbers. Plus most weapons already display ammo numbers on the model itself, and I’m glad 343 tried to include this feature in as many weapon as possible.
