Let´s summarize all that happened on the last few years. MCC didn´t had a propper beta, and the people that could try it ONLY could play the campaigns, not the multiplayer. When it launched on 2014 it was destroyed by the community by the ammount of glitches (due to the lack of a beta)
When we play a Beta we can deliver the feedback for the developers, in order they can see what is wrong and make the final product better.
I seriously don´t ask for a single-player beta, I think it would ruin the mistery of the Infinite Campaign, but if we at least get a quick multiplayer beta with 2 gamemodes and 4 maps, we can tell to 343 industries what is wrong with server or glitches, and try to not make another MCC Launch on glitches.
If you don´t believe my facts see the Halo 5 final product on multiplayer. It had a beta, we could deliver feedback and putting apart the quality of the overall game, it was at least better than MCC at launch with not a lot of serious glitches.
So, I ask for 343 to reconsider the things and put a Beta of the game, using the stuff that I talked about as a support for my idea. What do you think? Do we really need a beta?
Looking forward to whatever we can get our hands on.
Just as long people don’t over-estimate their role in the beta. It’s more likely to be about general sandbox (eg. weapon balance) and network stress testing.
It’s unlikely that they will be looking at any feedback on art styles or enhance mobility - no matter how vocal the clique.
Well they’ve said there will be a beta for all Halo games going forward so we should be getting one sometime early next year, if they go with the same format H5’s beta had. That also gives them plenty of time to make actual meaningful changes based on our feedback instead of doing what COD does and have the beta release a month before the launch. COD’s beta is basically marketing for pre-orders and not an actual test of the game so I’m hoping 343 give plenty of time between the beta and the game, at least a few months.

Infinite MOST DEFINITELY needs a Beta.
Why? It’s like you said, to fix glitches and bugs in the game. Also to test certain ideas
I’d say that Infinite needs a beta more than any other Halo did. Infinite is a hugely important game for 343 to get right at launch, and failure to do so would probably cause as many people to abandon the franchise as Halo 4. This game needs to run well, so they need a beta.

As hopeful as we can be, I highly doubt at this point a beta would yield any changes to the overall sandbox of Infinite’s MP. By this time that is relatively set in stone, a MP beta would probably be mostly for stress testing servers and weapons balancing.

Yes, the same I was thinking about, just to see the glitches and try on the servers for not make another disastrous launch in glitches. The changes of the sandbox I think they would be tested in post-launch flightings.
A certain someone who is the big boss of 343 said that their would be proper beta testing for every major Halo game to release in the future. If this doesn’t happen then lets just add this onto the pile of broken promises, lies, and excuses 343 has given us over the years.

They did say that… but then apologised that it was unlikely given the restrictions imposed by COVID.
Perfectly understandable when the release date was still Nov 2020.
Now that it’s been delayed we don’t know what that means for any beta testing in Infinite. If it’s early 2021, and COVID still in full swing, then the decision to not go ahead may still stand. If it’s mid-late 2021 then they may have the time and resources to go back to the original intent of a beta.

Depends on the function of the beta.
Network stress testing and sandbox tweaking wouldn’t need a lot of time to address.

A sandbox general test would need to be tested well before release to see if the game-play is good/bad because releasing it too close to a release means nothing major would change.
A Beta would be very useful. It would be able to test the stress and connectivity of the game as well as possibly looking at some of the features. An example is back in the Halo 3 beta. One of my favorite things from the beta was the Bubble shield. Did anyone remember that in the beta, it actually rolled if you put it on a slanted surface. I’m not sure what it changed in the end before actual launch, but I’m sure there were reasons back in the day. The one last thing is timing. putting a beta out a month or 2 before launch is going to do only a little to help this game become what it truly means to be. To get things properly set and have a good feel, I hope a beta is set up at least 4 months before launch. doing it this way can give proper time to manage and fix the problems they find as well as make the necessary tweaks. These are just my personal thoughts.
Yessir. Even if we don’t get flighting to give feedback on gameplay, at least have an open beta to stress test servers. No one likes buying a game at launch, hopping on MP and seeing server errors.
A beta would be nice, however it wouldn’t give them the data that they need. 99.9% of people treat a Beta as a trial game and give no feed back, they just play it and move on. Let alone this crowd, where you have people who would play the beta and then just come on here and not share anything critical or analytical and bash 343 because they’re 343. With the current landscape of gamers and gaming as a whole a beta for a game with a community like Halo would be pointless. My .02
343 will definitely have a beta/flighting for Infinite, they have stated how much flighting has helped them in their quest to fix MCC so they really have no reason to not flight Infinite.
If the game after 5 years+ was slated to come out next month, I don’t see how a multiplayer beta at least can not be delivered during that same time frame. It would still move some consoles if marketed right. In the past few years we see games actually release in Beta and succeed (PUBG), so this would be a no brainer imo.
