Hence the reason 343 might’ve said they’re not doing a Battle Royale. But a massive FFA basically, I’m incredibly hyped and hopeful. And don’t hate because of the genre, because as Tetris clearly let’s us know a BR is only a massive FFA.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who saw him say that. Halo can do Battle Royal and do it very well. But I personally don’t want to see it in a mainstream Halo game.
Its going to be interesting to say the least

343 are not working on any Battle Royale games or modes, this was debunked a number of months ago. Frank debunked this again today

> Halo Infinite needs Battle Royal mode to stay relevant & retain multiplayer player count. BR is not a fade, it will be one of expected mode to successful FPS going forward, even Call of Duty & Battlefield are implementing their own version of BR. Fortnite, as worldwide sensation is becoming one of first FPS they played for lot of audience, not to mention PUBG. That audience will eventually look for other similar games, CoD & BF is doing just that. If Halo does not have BR, they loss the opportunity to bring part of that huge & growing audience, which will be hard to ignore. Halo has a great opportunity to bring futuristic BR mode which no AAA game currently offers.
> One of main problems I see in Halo today is that it is held back by huge baggage of nostalgia, those modes that no longer is relevant & trying to appeal to older generation that no longer plays the game. Grief ball & addition of jet pack is prime example of this. Grief ball which community demanded to be added, which no one plays anyway & jetpack & dash that players hated, which turned out to be great addition to the game. If the game tries to appeal to the old & ignore the upcoming players, it will ultimately fail to capture enough audience to stay relevanThr.
The Halo I know is a trend maker not a follower and adding a battler Royal mode is not going to help it and who cares if the other FPS games are doing them they’re just doing it because it’s going to make them more money and they become generic .Halo shouldn’t be generic, it’s been known for being so unique which is why I didn’t like halo 4 and 5
Brad Sam said this based off of what? Being labeled an “analyst” doesn’t give you enough credibility to say whatever you want based on nothing.
At the very most it could be a traditional game mode that is like elimination and involve some number of players that fight it out. They could do that and still play it safe imo.
No. Absolutely not. Halo needs to stick to being itself, that’s what made Halo great in the first place. Don’t try to be COD, Apex, or Fortnite. Nobody will crucify the game for NOT having a BR mode.
So here’s the thing, I already made Battle Royal variants back in Halo 2. Slayer, 1 life only, Pistol Start, Random Weapons and Vehicle spawns. There you go a battle royal but the funny thing is people didn’t like it. After the first few kills people didn’t have anything to do as it was only 1 life. We ended up sticking to team CTF and Assault for our game modes.
That being said, you could make your own battle royal in Halo right now**.** Simply just go into forge and put in some weapons and vehicles on a map, make a game type like the one I mention before and wolah you got a battle royal. So as I said before and will continue to do so, if Halo needs a battle royal, give the community the tools to make their own battle royal and you will get a far superior version than if 343 attempted to do their own take. One of the main reason why Spartan Ops was less than stellar is 343 tried to make content when the community already set up to out pace them. Halo 4 had a poor version of forge and thus the community could not make halo 4 the game that its predecessor was. When I played Spartan ops, the thought that crossed my mind (especially on the Valhalla missions) is that we could have made this ourselves if we had control of enemy spawns.
So 343 just needs to make sure the community has to tools to create things like custom levels, battle royal game modes, machinima and whatever else which made the Halo community so great. Halo doesn’t need to copy other franchises, 343 tried that with Halo 4 and 5 and both flopped. If we could make skiball in forge, then we can make our own battle royal in halo. Heck why are you listening to me
DON’T ASK 343 FOR A BATTLE ROYAL MODE. GO MAKE A BATTLE ROYAL MAP IN FORGE AND A BATTLE ROYAL CUSTOM GAME TYPE YOURSELF!!!
Glad Frankie debunked this again, but it’s disappointing how much influence someone like Brad Sams has over gaming news outlets. When these rumors get covered as ‘reports’, it just gives people more fuel to hate on 343 for no reason (especially given how very few of the sites have retracted the claim).
Battle royal is just the trend of the season, while there are plenty of people playing battle royal its not necessary for its “survival”. Halo has plenty of people who play it, remember playing it, or are interested in playing it on pc and xbox and adding a Battle royal mode would just seem as gimmicky and money hungry as the REQ packs in 5 looked. The game needs some things to bring it back in the limelight like split screen, for 343 to continue to listen to feedback, better art design, a story that can be followed ingame, ect but definitely not a br.
For one the market already has heavy hitters drawing away those that want to play br’s, fortnite, apex, pubg, and to a smaller extent, cod. This makes the market already crowded as those that want br’s already have 3 very different ones to choose from, so unless you get lucky as well as inovating the genre at the same time, it will be more of a joke than a big success (see bf5 br).
Also since there is some time before release it’s quite possible that br’s will becomes less relevant by the time infinite releases, dating the game, the exact opposite of becoming more relevant.
Also Halo has already been boosted in relevancy purely by bringing it to the biggest gaming platform pc. The mcc on pc announcement has brought back old players who moved on from xbox and people interested in the franchise who never had an xbox. All this new hype is around how Halo is, not on a desire to chase fads.
I would much rather 343i put the time they are putting into BR into making the multi-player better or even making a half decent campaign as the Halo 5 campaign wasn’t really the best and the that is one of my favorite parts of Halo doing co-op missions but Halo 5’s campaigns just sucked to be honest, but maybe it’s because I’m a early Halo player.
I’m fine with BR as long as a game is only dedicated to BR like Apex or Fortnite as I do play those myself but when it comes to Halo it’s not a game I’d want to do BR on.

Because that would take time, money, developers, and server infrastructure to do, and that means less of those things for the main game. Unless microsoft wants to spend and hire a lot more people for the purpose of a side br mode that likely won’t like boost sales amounts much.

the server infrastruture will be the same if there add in halo infinte only for a seperate game you not have to link the servers with the main halo game.
sure it will take a lot longer time then you make it in halo infinite but then again how longer it take’s how less worse it can be with the problems you have.
the developers problem will stay the same if there add a BR in halo infinite or make a seperate game from it.
the money will maybe a small problem but its still the same if there make it seperate or in the main game.
now if the BR is free to play and new players that not know what halo is play the BR game and think after few match’s that halo is a cool looking game who knows there gone buy the main halo game’s also since there have see and have play what halo is.
some off the game’s release a demo and a full game mode and some new players first gone try the demo before buying the full game who knows there like the demo or not.
